How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

I am curious to know everyone’s thoughts on “cheat” meals. Every article I read seems to contradict the last one. Do you have “cheat” meals? How often? How do you feel afterwards? Would love some insight!

I think it really depends on your personality for what approach works and that's why there is conflicting information. I work better with strict rules but it's impossible to ban all the "cheat" foods forever. I used to avoid them for as long as possible but once I broke then it would be a flood of all the foods all day long (or more than a day). Now I plan to eat one of these kinds of foods on sundays. It's in my plan so it's not technically a cheat, I can control my cravings during the week by reminding myself that I can have it on Sunday, and I don't fall into an uncontrolled spiral of poor food choices. So far it's working for me!

I have always been an all or nothing diet person and have kept putting on and taking off the same 30 pound since I had my kids. This year my “resolution” is moderation. So instead of “cheat meals” I am eating in moderation things I want. So I’m finding ways to make my favorite meals at home in healthier ways. Last night we had a date night at Olive Garden and I at a bowl of soup and two breadsticks. Stayed within my calories and was full afterward without being sick full off of the extra pasta. Changing my mindset to be okay with enjoying the things I want without losing my goals has really helped me.
