How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Hi all,

This may get personal. I failed to make the February weight, and it sucked. I get you. I didn't even weigh in I was so devastated with being sick for a week and cancelling all my workouts and eating soup or whatever the husband made (and whatever calories he put into it) I cried yesterday feeling like it was a giant step back.

I'm trying to remember that we have a lot going on in life right now, and its honestly okay to not hit a milestone. It's okay to remark with appreciation on the progress we DO make. Right now is a really tough time globally. Small things we don't realize contributes to a massive spread of depression, stress on us all, no matter our situation - rich, poor, suburbs, city, old, young- we all have our problems to deal with. The urge to connect is overwhelming for me personally, and doing this all alone can feel like a prison of my own making.

I wanted to quit the Dietbet like I've done before. I tend to let the weight of everything {pun not intended] crush me and I quit/retreat/retract back into 'safety'. For me personally, I wake up and I literally almost crawl to my desk working up the will to start my workday [which I recognize I am blessed to have]. I have grief therapy 4x a month because losing my dad ripped my heart from my chest, and every day is a struggle. Hubby and I have been working @ home for a year in a studio of 425 square feet. How are we married still? Getting out to workout or eating right instead of inhaling Dino nuggets and pizza with hot cheetos in bed is HARD. Making a healthy meal or making steps sometimes feels impossible. Working parents, college students, I can't even imagine how you manage.

I'm throwing this out into the world because we are all having a hard time in one way or another. I'm going to stay in this for the community and support, and I hope you will too because I need you. A lot of us need you. We need community and connection, to feel that. And I hope it matters that I stay in for you all. <3

I wanted to thank everyone for the posts- I didn't intend to seek as much support myself, but I welcome it gratefully. Even if I don't win, I always consider the money payed out as a membership fee to a great community who never fails to lift each other. <3
