How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

My daughter and I are losing weight together. She said she feels weird being in a thinner body and asked if I relate—and I said I felt uncomfortable overweight and more normal now. How are YOU feeling?

What I think is weird is every few pounds lost I might feel really thin or really big. It's shocking to me that I didn't always feel big when I was bigger...or that I can feel big now when I'm so much smaller. Our brains are weird.

I've been thinking about this a lot - nobody has ever known me (other than maybe as a young child) to be a person who wasn't overweight, so that's just been my accepted status. When I've lost weight before, some people become uncomfortable because I was a big guy, that was my identity, and when I lose, it's hard for them to see me in my new identity. But I don't care - if my being healthier messes with their heads, the GOOD!
