How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

  • A few weeks ago I noticed as my weight was dropping I was losing both fat and muscle. Since 2/15, when I started tracking my biometrics with the Renpho, I had lost 10.8 lbs total, 7.6 lbs of fat, 3.0 lbs of muscle, and 0.2 lbs from bone mass. Perhaps I could maintain my muscle if I eat between 0.5 and 0.8 grams of protein per pound of body weight. While holding my calorie goal the same, I upped my beans, tofu, and nooch. A couple of days later I decided to add in some plant based protein powder. I can see improvements in my ratio of muscle to fat, but It's too soon to tell what the true effect might be. Despite holding my calories below my BMR it looks like I have stopped losing both muscle and fat. Oh yeah that's right I have been on a plateau since 4/24, a coincidence... perhaps. The Excel graph below shows my muscle data in blue and fat data in gray. Both have been reduced by constants so they are easier to compare.

Looks like adding protein has stopped the muscle loss. Looking forward to seeing the graph again in a few months. I'm curious about what the impacts will be.

Very cool insight.. I was beginning to research protein needs verses calories for fat loss .. WTG!
