How do you verify the weight loss?
For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

When we pay $35 per round for this Transformer, we are actually only putting half (17.50) of that into the round prize, and the other half goes to the last pot to make it a bigger goal for the end of the game. So your payout for winning round 1 probably won't be $35, but when you consider you've only put in $17.50 for round 1, that's the amount you need to think about when think you're losing money even though you won the round.
Example - in the Transformer I'm in that started on January 1, we've just completed the fourth round. So far our payouts per round are as follows:
Round 1 - $18.43
Round 2 - $27.13
Round 3 - $32.62
Round 4 - $34.00
Round amounts are determined solely by the percentage of players who win a round, and that number always changes from round to round. The numbers above represent a different Transformer, and are listed just for example purposes. I have no idea what we will win in Round 1, but it will be a minimum of $17.50.
All of those months represent a profit, since only $17.50 was put into the prize pool for that round. Also remember that DietBet takes a percentage out for their expenses for paying staff and referees and providing us with all of this technology. There are always people who don't understand this model, so hopefully this will clear it up for you. Of course if you win the round, that means you've lost over 3% of your starting weight, and THAT'S A PRETTY GOOD PRIZE RIGHT THERE!
