How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone
  • A full-length mirror or someone to take your photo

Does anyone else struggle with self-loathing? And not due to my size, though that’s enough. But because I have gone over my calorie goal by 1000 calories today. And I knew I was doing it before I ate it. I was hungry, and I told myself it was okay because I was hungry, and my hormones are playing with me, and I had a nice drop in weight this morning from yesterday. I know one day over doesn’t ruin the challenge, and that sometimes you do just need more. I suppose complicated thought patterns and habits are a big part of why I’m here.

You are not alone! In 2017 I lost 48 pounds. Here I am, 4 years later, and I’ve gained back 40 of the 48 I lost. Basically it’s because I keep doing what you described over and over again day in and day out! It’s very frustrating.

When I lost my 48 pounds, one thing that worked for me was I would tell myself it was ok to have a treat once in a while. I would actually pretend like it never happened and move on. Somehow that really worked for me, and I’m hoping to get back into that mindset again.

Hang in there, you are not alone. Be kind to yourself and know that one bad day will not destroy all of your progress. You got this!

Lisa, How strong you are to be open about your feelings. Everyone here knows how hard this is and this sense of community can be so supportive. I don't know your goals but 1,000 seems very low. I would be hungry on that, too. And I also don't like myself when I don't live up to my own expectations.
