How do you verify the weight loss?

For all official weigh-ins, you'll be prompted to submit your official starting weight. Our standard weigh-in process involves you submitting 2 photos: one of you standing on a scale in lightweight clothing (no shoes, hats, belts, watches, coats, or outerwear), and another of the scale’s readout with your weigh-in word written on a piece of paper.

What you'll need

  • A scale (preferably digital)
  • A digital camera or smartphone

I saw some comments about the recent JM challenge and I was disappointed. I was a participant in this challenge, and although I did not reach my goal, I am still a winner because I lost 5.8 pounds. To me, it wasn't about winning the money, it was all about losing the weight. I LOVE the comments and support from all the players and reading about everyone else's accomplishments - it helps keep me motivated and proud of what I have already accomplished (49 lbs. since Feb). With this challenge, I was disappointed in myself., but I am not going to lose any sleep because I didn't win any money. And if I did win, I wasn't expecting any large amount. This is supposed to be fun and motivating. If you happen to make a few dollars from winning, all the better, but this is why its called a "bet". Best of luck to all of you that are doing the next challenge and I will see all of you again in January. Happy Holidays!

Perhaps a lesson learned for both of us. Clearly 813 calories is healthy for NOBODY! She hasn't posted since the game was "almost ending". Perhaps there is a personal issue that is preventing it - I would like to give the benefit of the doubt but factually I have not been impressed from day one. So, live and learn is what I say. Shaun T. has been unbelievable if you ever have the opportunity.

Congratulations Denise on your win...5.8 lbs is a huge amount to lose in 4 weeks. You did WELL!!!!

As far as some type of work out - walking, running, gym a couple of times/week - 6 or 7 days is not unreasonable - but 813 calories is absurd - your basal metabolism is probably close to double that - it's okay to do low-calorie once or twice a week, although I'm not a fan of calorie counting - but low-calorie over time will slow your metabolism.

I agree - what host???? I'm guessing it was probably her staff posting the 2 times I actually saw something...oh well, I barely made my goal and I agree also with "it wasn't about the money"

I only found this bet helpful because being competitive, it forced me to lose the weight - I was stuck in my db10 and needed something. I started running again during this bet and am doing 6 miles 4x per week now...

The people and support of those people in the bet were my motivators - certainly not the host.
