  • I’m thrilled to report that my new post-kiddo bedtime routine was a success last night! - tea and reading in bed instead of snacks, wine, and Netflix on the couch. I really had to get away from the couch and Netflix to make it work. I felt so much better as I fell asleep and woke up more refreshed. And enjoyed my book immensely! Now to make this my new habit!!

Thank you for posting about this - I so need to make this change! I put my kid to bed and then spend the next 3+ hours wasting my time watching tv or online rather than doing work or going to bed myself...need to change! Thanks for the motivation.

I’m finally under 300 pounds because of this diet bet! I never want to see those numbers again! Almost at my goal for this diet bet! I knew the key was to do it with my husband. Because in the past I only succeeded when I did my diet bet together with him. He really helped me get over that initial hump in the beginning. And now I’m eating more fruits and veggies again. Bust mostly im more aware of my calorie intake. I used to think I’d have to quit everything bad cold turkey because that’s the way I always had to do it. But doing it with my husband I’ve been able to fit in everything I ate before but I’m just more serious about my portions. I feel more deserving of the food I eat now rather than mindlessly eating. I really hope I don’t lose this drive so that I can see my progress over a long period of time. Because usually I lose momentum after a month and then gain it back. But not this time! I’m going to join another DietBet after this one and hold myself accountable! I think a big thing is that even if I’m having a bad meal because I know it’s within my calorie allotment I feel like it’s fine to eat just not all of the time but it satisfies me and makes me not want to binge on it because I know I can still hop on the scale and see results. I should probably start incorporating some exercise soon. Anyhow, I hope everyone is doing well! Even if not don’t give up. Just accept whatever bad thing you ate and get back on track. Don’t go down the rabbit hole! I’ve been sad for months thinking I couldn’t do it but I’ve finally got started and I don’t want to stop!

  • I had a crazy hectic busy 2 weeks between packing, moving, cleaning, and now unpacking. I still lost another 4 pounds now I’m 70% towards my goal to win the diet bet. So far I’m down 74 pounds since I started in January. This shirt on the left was in 2017 and on the right was yesterday. Also on IG @warrior_jessica_slashes_fat so y’all get first looks before i post it later.

My motivation is how good I feel when I take care of myself. Eating nutritious food , drinking water , and exercising cure my mild depression and anxiety. Nothing tastes as good as healthy feels. My parents died in their 60s and it was preventable.
