  • Yesterday, I fell of the bandwagon and had a pizza and some chips for dinner. I did not feel amazing, so I'm back today. Dinner is steak, side salad and (my guilty pleasure) pickles. Yum

For the first time since I started my keto Journey which has only been a month since I went off my diet well I call it a lifestyle but even on days where I maybe didn't make the greatest choices I've always stayed keto even if I went over by maybe one or two carbs but I did not have a great weekend as far as my diet but honestly I'm not worried I feel like I've gained so much will power and I want this so badly that I know I'm going to get right back on track tomorrow and that's all we can do so don't let it discourage you we are human and nobody's going to eat perfect all the time way to go getting right back on track

Hey Everyone! I've just finished my first week of intermittent fasting. The most I did was 17-7 and I felt pretty good. Except the last 3 days, I get a flushed face and chest, headache and my blood pressure goes up after I have my first meal. I have high blood pressure and I take medication for it, so I'm not sure what happens? Has this ever happened to any of you? I also do keto, my calorie intake is about 1700-1800 cals with about 3 litres (100 oz) of water, no caffeine. My doctor said it might be adrenalin release, but I'm wondering if you guys have any suggestions. Thank you

I have very similar problems. You are most likely having an electrolyte imbalance. Only use Himalayan sea salt when cooking since it has all the other minerals with the sodium. Since keto is naturally a diuretic you lose minerals quickly. If you are working out sweating will cause you to lose more. When you drink large amounts of water you flush out even more minerals. Add a pinch of quality salt to each glass of water you drink and eat plenty high potassium and magnesium rich veggies such as avocados, beet greens, broccoli, and romaine lettuce. On the website mercola.com you can search “food high in Potassium” or “magnesium”. It may take a few weeks to get back to normal. Hang in there. Hopefully things will even out quickly for you.

So, I tried intermittent fasting for the 1st time and it wasn't bad at all. I had a little headache that went away after my first meal, but I wasn't hungry at all. I think I'm going to continue.

Glad it’s working for you so far. I have had much success with it. I use it off and on and change it up too. There are so many ways you can do it.
1. fast 24 hrs a couple times a week
2. eat in a window of 8 hours or as little as two hours fast the remainder hours
3. Fasting mimicking diet - eat 500 calories, usually in one meal and eat anytime the next day
There are other ways as well. Try them out and see what works best for you. Change it up from time to time when you feel like a change. Good luck to you!

I'm over in North Dakota and I walked my friends dog since she recently had knee surgery but today I walked through a foot of snow that's got to burn some extra calories LOL

I agree with Crystal don't let making a few bad choices ruin your whole day even if there's just a few hours left I've learned from personal experience that a lot of damage can be done in a few hours accept what happened and make better choices for the rest of your day

I’ve lost 205lbs naturally in the last 16 months and joining a DietBet a day after starting my journey (and every month since) is one of the tools that has helped me get where I am!     Tips and info as we get ready to start our game:
    -Weigh-in starts today and others are able to join for 14 days after our game starts, so please invite your friends/family/coworkers to come join us! You never know who might need motivation, so show them how inspiring you can be! If you have weigh in or game problems please email support@dietbet.com
    -Track your food! MyFitnessPal has been the most important tool I’ve used to track all my food from the very beginning. You don’t need to track macros or follow a plan, but it helps get an idea of portion sizes and accountability to stay on track. Diet is key and is how I’ve lost my weight!
    -Get up and move (if you’re able)! Just getting a 20 minute walk in can help a ton. If 20 minutes is too hard right now, try 10 minutes. At my highest weight last year it was actually painful to walk for more than 5-10 minutes, so we all start somewhere.
    -Take pictures/measurements! I can’t stress how important this is. I guarantee you will regret it later if you don’t.
    -Interact and encourage each other! One of the best things about DietBet is being able to support, cheer on, and share with the rest of the players. The more active it is, the more fun! do you have, or has it been a part of YOUR journey, a specific daily caloric intake?? how has this changed for you since your original weight loss. I imagine its higher now than your original goals. but wonder how you calculated that change along the way, to adapt to your journey.


I’d really love to know more details around what foods your eating and how you get through stalls. I’ve found that IF is a huge help for me. I also have stalls when I have too much dairy. I really have to keep it basic/ strict keto. Do you eat the same foods all the time or try to mix it up? I’m 88lbs down since June and folks like you are a HUGE inspiration for me!!! So thank you for sharing your journey with all of us!
