It happens -- not a doc but for me, I need to clear the house of anything that can be quickly consumed. Cookies, chips, cheese blocks (they never last more than a day). Stick to rice with soy sauce, protein you have to cook, eggs, vegetables, potatoes, etc only in the house. Stuff that doesn't lend itself to quick eating. Happens to a lot of us! Good luck


Brain over Binge helped me with my out of control eating. Admittedly, ive had to re-read it a few times, but it may be something to try and night help you. Good luck!

Hey all, Bart from Idaho here. Where is everyone from? So the last two DietBets I have done ended in some serious sweat sessions at the gym to hit goal weight and then it’s like I can’t stop eating once I am verified. I wasn’t going to do another DietBet until after the holidays, but decided it’s time to stop eating all the junk food and actually start getting to the gym regularly. I am hoping to find some friends here to help keep me motivated and on track.

Does anyone here have a naturally slow metabolism? And/or prone to stress? (Just internal stress). I’ve been struggling for so long and I’m usually maintaining my weight and when something bothers me my body holds onto my weight. I want to lose 50-60 more pounds and this is so hard to do. When I strength train, the scale shows me a higher number. Not sure what I should do. It’s funny, if I starve myself, I still can’t lose weight. (That’s not what I’m doing, just an example!) I even tried upping the exercise on elliptical but then my weight is down .4 or .6 lb for that week. I have lost quite a few diet bets since the scale isn’t cooperating! Thoughts? Ideas? And no, I don’t have thyroid problems. But I’m super sad these days and just trying to push myself to stick to my exercise and the way I’m eating, I should be a size 2! Thanks all!

I found the Gabriel Method (book and courses) to be really helpful at addressing weight loss struggles when they aren’t all about food. He actually changed how I see my weight. Might be worth looking into. Take care!

Same for me! The only thing that works is low carb and intermittent fasting. If I start eating carbs again the weight comes back
