I’m in both, though after the initial weight loss, I find it more difficult to keep up with kickstarters.

Had a great first week.

Week 2 not so great. Hormones (ya know the monthly kind) had my will shot, anxiety high, and retaining all the water...waiting until Tuesday to do my weigh in.

Does anyone here have a naturally slow metabolism? And/or prone to stress? (Just internal stress). I’ve been struggling for so long and I’m usually maintaining my weight and when something bothers me my body holds onto my weight. I want to lose 50-60 more pounds and this is so hard to do. When I strength train, the scale shows me a higher number. Not sure what I should do. It’s funny, if I starve myself, I still can’t lose weight. (That’s not what I’m doing, just an example!) I even tried upping the exercise on elliptical but then my weight is down .4 or .6 lb for that week. I have lost quite a few diet bets since the scale isn’t cooperating! Thoughts? Ideas? And no, I don’t have thyroid problems. But I’m super sad these days and just trying to push myself to stick to my exercise and the way I’m eating, I should be a size 2! Thanks all!

I found the Gabriel Method (book and courses) to be really helpful at addressing weight loss struggles when they aren’t all about food. He actually changed how I see my weight. Might be worth looking into. Take care!

Same for me! The only thing that works is low carb and intermittent fasting. If I start eating carbs again the weight comes back

Hi, I haven’t introduced myself. I am Chance and my goal for this DietBet is to get down to my goal weight by the end of it. I’ve lost 31 pounds so far this year. I’m in the New Years transformer and I’ve won all 5 rounds. I follow brightlineeating and do moderate exercise.
I have been a bit off track the past few months though. So I’m tightening the strings in order to achieve my goal this year. I look forward to seeing all of your inspirational posts.

I’m doing bright line eating too! It’s Susan Pierce Thompson’s book and method. I’m tightening my bright lines at the moment too, got a little wobbly for a second. Love it!

I’ve never done a 6 month one but the 4 week ones were an excellent motivator for me. Wanting to win and get my money back has been better than any internal motivation I could muster lately!


I’m curious as well. So far it’s been a good reminder to stay focused on health when I might have otherwise been pulled off track by life.
