  • I'm in danger of getting very discouraged. Working super hard to lose weight, haven't been able to shrug off last week's gain despite my attention to protein carbs and water. Starting with about a 2 lb loss, but then ended up weighing more than I did when I started this round. This is where the going gets tough, but I'm in it for the long haul

The concept of “good enough” came as a revelation to this perfectionist two decades ago when I suffered a head injury. It was a weird gift to recognize that granting myself grace to do “only” good enough also opened the door to learning empathy. Anyway, perfect isn’t always possible and “good enough” can help us win in the end. Keep going - you’re worth it!!!!

I'm here. I backslid. Fell off the wagon, blew it up, dragged it into the woods, used it as firewood to eat too many smores backslid. Gained more weight than i thought possible in a little over a month backslid.

But I'm here... and I'm making a new wagon. Today starts today (notice - I'm not starting tomorrow, I'm starting now at 5pm)

My mistake is that I lost my routine of tracking my intake and not drinking water.

I try to just worry about one thing each day. Today the focus is on restricting sugar. Yesterday I focused on tons of water. One thing per day seems to keep me from feeling overwhelmed.

Same here! A part of me feels like I’ll just never change, but another part of me wants to try giving it another go, since I’m so dang sick of this start-fall off-start-fall off cycle. Baby steps and one day at a time, hang in there!

Ugh. I mean, "Hi, everyone!". But ugh. Last time I even logged into this app was 2 weeks ago. You can guess (correctly) that things aren't going well. No particular reason, except I am just tired of being so aware of food. all. the. time. Also, I'm a bit stressed about some work stuff. Stress leads me straight to caffeine, which means pop...then I go to fast food drive-thrus to get pop (because I don't keep it in the house), so I just grab breakfast/lunch/dinner. Then suddenly I haven't eaten a meal from my own kitchen for 2 weeks.
I am going to try and steer this in a better direction. Not sure of my game plan yet, but it can't be Mt Dew all day with Panera for breakfast, Skyline for lunch and leftover Chinese takeout for dinner (today's example).

If it weren't for the fact that I live in a very remote Idaho town with no fast food restaurants within 20 miles, I would be with you. We're drawn to the same foods over and over because the connection with our past eating habits is deeply ingrained. Please remember that you are resilient and strong and intelligent. The only way I have been able to try to break out of the cycle is to plan and prepare even when I don't feel like it. I've been doing it for about 8 months and the difference is real! However when I go to town shopping, those fast food places are still appealing, and I have to refuse to drive in even in for a drink.

Pop is a landslide food for me. If I'm eating at a sit-down restaurant and can't take it with me, I am okay. But if I buy it at a convenience store or get takeout, I end up eating waaaay more than I do in a normal day. And feeling icky during workout the next. I switched to coffee in order to get my caffeine without the pop problem. I'd rather have a bit of flavored creamer and deal with the calories from that then have a whole day derailed. UGH! Feeling so discouraged, did great last month but this month I have hit a complete plateau! So frustrated. Bouncing between 3-5lbs left to lose this month and I’m starting to think it’s not going to happen 😔

Consistency is key. So as long as you don’t let this turn in to ‘eff it, it’s not working’ than you’re good! Are you tracking your food and analyzing what you’re eating and drinking?

Reached my goal weight today….now comes the hard part. Keeping it up for two weeks while I have a long weekend trip planned and my birthday. But it is about ting and yang, keep at it during the week and try to be balanced even when on a weekend away, portion control etc.

Right now I'm in a stall and this happens sometimes. I've had several days of about the same weight despite eating a healthy diet and getting plenty of exercise and movement in every day.

These stalls can be hard!!

The best thing I've found is to just keep the routine and faith that my weight will eventually have another dip.

How are all of you doing? What's going well and what could be better? How are you pushing to make progress?

I stalled for what felt like months. Just losing a pound a week maybe! It was so discouraging and I was losing my motivation. I decided to switch it up and went full Keto and the lbs started dropping again. And I get to still have treats (keto friendly) so I don’t think about cheating!
