I contacted them about a month ago(maybe less) and asked the same thing. THe drawings usually happen towards the end of the month I believe. Like the 25-28th. I won a $100 gift card to Whole Foods for the 3rd drawing. Along with 10 ppl. So that’s how they get to $5K in prizes. They email you if you win. but yes the main problem is that they aren’t pinned at top and get lost in the shuffle of posts.

Hi! I need some advice fellow dietbet-ers! I joined a small kickstarter, because of "weekly Halloween themed challenges". It just sounded like some fun motivation. Well the host has not even posted a single thing! I am so bummed. It is on the 8th day already, and she doesn't even interact. Should I just let it go, and find a better one next time? Would it do any good to message Dietbet? What should I do?

    I think for me I always get lean beef (93-95%) chicken breasts, potatoes, I always like to keep cauliflower rice in the freezer, fruits and veggies are always needed.

Help! The scale bounced a couple pounds.
It's so easy for me to keep up the good work and monitor food consumption when the scale is cooperating with me. The first time I see a little bounce for whatever reason (even if I know that maybe I drank a cup of water recently), I immediately lose my motivation and crave more bad-for-me calories.

Ginger, how are your clothes fitting? I keep a pair of "aspirational" pants in the closet to remind myself that weight loss can sometimes be measured in how clothes fit--as Teeeeeee suggested.

I think this was a bad luck post. At least bad timing. My daughter ended up in the hospital that night. Sleeping at the hospital for a week is a sure way to lose a couple more pounds. :-(

Every day is a new day, you can do this! Helps me to track habits instead of progress - track how often you do food diary, how often you sleep well etc, and then the weight will come off as you do the things that lead to health step by step...

At this point of my vacation I don’t even know what day it is anymore. It’s been crazy. After driving for about 24 hours we hit the next whole day walking around Boston. That was about 7 miles of walking. Yesterday, we spent over 12 hours in Salem for about 10 miles of walking. We ended the night with a walking ghost tour. Salem in October is INSANE! This morning we got up to head up the coast but first we went for the free breakfast at the hotel. I tried squeezing between chairs to get to an open table and in the process, knocked over an empty chair (because I didn’t fit), spilled my coffee on my hand and my water. At the moment I was so annoyed that I didn’t really feel embarrassed. Now my sister is telling me to use it as motivation but if anything it’s discouraging that after having lost 40 pounds It hasn’t gotten any easier.

  • I see people feeling a little defeated or discouraged in my different groups. I’m sure we’ve all seen this by now, (pic included), but I know *I* need a refresher every now and then when I feel the number on the scale isn’t moving quickly enough even when my clothes let me know I’m winning overall. And even when people at work joke with me and say things like the other day. One lady said “GIRRLL, you KNOW those pants and shirt are too big for you now, right?!?” and we chuckled. Yes, I know, BUT I’m in that Godforsaken land of “in between sizes”. “Just” losing 5 lbs is a lot even when it does feel that way in your head or heart. Look what you’ve accomplished and be proud. I’m talking to myself, too! I hope you all have a FANTASTIC FRIDAY!! Hang in there, and keep pushing! 😘

  • Good morning and happy Thursday. It's our first of October and I say let's make each Thursday better than the last for the rest of the bet!

    How are you feeling guys, we're in a new month and half way done this Transformer. Are you feeling motivated and strong? Are you feeling doubtful? We still have a long way to go and you really can reach your goals. With focus and balance and a healthy plan you can do anything!

    Our 30 for Thursday is a great start. I feel we should (if we're physically able) exercise for at least 30 minutes a day. So our 30 for Thursday is a launching point to help get you in the habit of getting in a good workout. Now some days you may not be able to do 30 minutes in a row - that's okay. We are living life - we're not seeking perfection. Break it up to 3 - 10 minute workouts. or 1 - 10 minute walk.

    But on Thursdays - for these few weeks anyway, I want you to try to get 30 continuous active minutes! So tell us, what are you doing for your 30? Be sure to share when you're done too

Tuesday and Thursday are my personal trainer days. 15 minutes of cardio and then 30 minutes with my personal trainer.

Muscle is denser so you can lose inches but maintain weight as you are building muscle, but that muscle will then burn more calories and help the weight drop later. Also, check in with your cycle. I plateau hard every month between ovulation and period. Often even with a bump up in weight, but then once my period is in full swing the weight will usually start dropping again.
