Ok, so I'm back to square one with my weight - but if I keep going and lose just over 7lb a month I can still win the final weigh in.
What do you think? Quit and start a Kickstarter - or give it a shot and try for the final weigh-in in June?

I am doing this plus three transformers

Do both, and you don't have to win round 5, but you do have to have lost 6% by that point, so it's not an unsafe sprint at the end

  • I had one cheat meal yesterday. I sent my hubby to KFC while I went to hang out with my ladies (chicken therapy x2' - and yes, we laughed at the irony!). I was losing my mind waiting on my pathology reports. Got them today. I am CANCER FREE! So thankful! 7 weeks since diagnosis. 5 since surgery. No further treatment needed. Still on target for dietbet! Incredibly thankful! My PSA (and lesson learned): if anything seems.out of whack or inexplicably painful, go to your doctor! Ignoring or toughing things out is not the answer!!

You're doing great!

Thanks :) I met her once a month, we go back to the drawing table e egy visit. Changing that mindset, it really puts my mind in a great place! Of course I wasnt happy with my weight today because I worked out, ate two meals and on my period lol! Also, I love her energy so that helps!

I really like Manda's quote. I am all about nothing being off the table. In other words, I can eat the pizza, ice cream, etc. But as a lifestyle, I don't want to eat it all the time. So I eat a majority of healthful, nutritious food and the pizza will be there next week or the week after that. It's no longer this mentality of not knowing the next time I'll eat indulgences, rather that I know it's there and I can have it at some point. That takes a lot of pressure off. :)

Thank you everybody!

It has been a rough month. The end of February, my grandpa passed away. My parent took care of him for 17 years, so this was incredibly difficult. Then, 2 weeks later, my aunt with stage 4 cancer took a turn for the worst, and was placed in hospice. We all stayed by her for the 3 days in hospice before she passed away. My parents cared for her for 5 years.

Then last week, we spent 2 days at CHildrens Hospital of Philadelphia so my daughter could go through a bunch of tests to qualify for a clinical trial. She was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome, which basically means she did not have most of the left side of her heart. She has been through 3 open heart surgeries to reconstruct her heart. This heart structure leads to liver damage for most of these kids. This medicine should improve her blood flow, and may reduce the risk of liver damage. She qualified, but it was a rough week. Despite all of this, I kept up with my weight loss, and was a winner in round 2.

My point is that you can all do this. Life throws curveballs, and sometimes, we may give in and eat unhealthy food or skip a workout, but instead of focusing on that, move on, and do better the next day. Life is short, and it should be celebrated. Work hard, play harder. And, Don’t forget to tell the people you love how much they mean to you.

I’m so sorry for your losses. And wishing you the best for your daughter. CHOP is amazing. Congrats on continuing to care for yourself with so much going on. That is not easy to do.

Mindy S.

Sorry for your losses. It’s amazing how strong you are staying.

Having a tough time with gaining weight then fighting to lose a little weight then gaining back. I was past my 2nd round goal but now I'm above it again ...

Me too :(
Ugh. I had my round 2 weight, but gaining now.

Laura B. This is so me. I’ve won numerous DietBets over the last year and always seem to gain it back once I’m done. It leaves me very frustrated with myself. Hope this transformer helps!

Didn't make my weight for the first round :( I highly suspect it's only due to feminine water retention because my jeans are really loose (ladies, any good tricks to combat this?). HOWEVER, I had a great non-scale victory! For the last decade, every time I've flown, I've needed a seatbelt extender....but no more, and NEVER again!!! Congratulations to everyone who made their goal for January!!!

That's an awesome NSV! I'm flying in July and hoping my seat belt won't be stretched to the very end. Surely in 5 months time I'll lose enough for flying to be more comfy!

Lisa S.

What a wonderful NSV!!
