I have not been on here for a while and i have out on most of what i lost in round 1.

I started off string and met my first round and since then i have really struggled. The last month i have put it back on.

I don't know if it's even possible now i think i am out of the game as i struggle to even lose 0.3 lb per week and to win now i think i need to lose 3.5 a week! My goal is to reach the final weigh in.

I have a few conditions that makes sense losing weight hard but the last month/6weeks i have well and truly gone off task and eaten really badly.

Anyone else in the same boat? Bizzarely since i have been doing badly i started going to the gym x2 a week.

Need to try and pull this back not sure how and if i can make it at all but i am going t try.

Someone once told me “Choose your hard. It’s hard to exercise and have self control in the kitchen, or it’s hard to be overweight with diabetes.” (type 2 runs in my family). Around the same time, I was complaining about turning 40 years old this year (being “old”) and someone at my gym said, “take care of your body! You need it another 40 years at least!”

I’m in the same boat. Just do your best each day. It is a struggle but we get a fresh start every morning. We got this!

We're over halfway and I'm so glad I started when I did. My goals are still the same but my resolve is definitely a little slack for the last month or so.

Feeling quite low this week, zero energy and really just like I'm driving with the handbrake on.

How do you combat low mood or depression? I really wanted to get out for a walk each evening this week, but instead ended up comfort eating, staying up too late and sleeping through alarms...

Could you try a morning walk instead? My resolve is always lowest in the evening, but I tend to get things done in the morning.

Ali

Find a podcast or audiobook that you enjoy and link it to your wellbeing not your weight. Getting outside and getting exercise helps improve your mood. So think of it as medicine, or something like washing your teeth.

I missed the last goal... and I just found out I've won a trip to Vegas from work! But it's from the 29th to 3rd so I don't know if I'll be able to weigh and if I can I'll probably have to deal with the 10lb gain from going to the States

Congratulations, Ali! If you email support@waybetter.com, they can work with you to help with the weigh-in. You might be just a bit too early to qualify for an early weigh-in - but I'm not positive, so it's worth checking!

Ali

I'll try to book a hotel with a gym I think! I'm still waiting on details though. It's from work and I'll be spending some time at our conference so I'm not sure how much walking I'll actually be doing and it's going to be HOT

Surpassed my weight goal for this month by a bit. Might be adding kickboxing to my Saturdays along with CrossFit 3 days a week. I did kickboxing for years and have been out for a while and miss it greatly. Ima have to install beast mood to get through because CrossFit already kicks my butt (I have only been doing that for 3 weeks) 💪

Once you get past the first month/month and a half you'll have adapted to crossfit! That's how long it took me to be able to add in a run day with it without frying myself for the rest of the week

I'm a 15-pound sausage in a 10-pound casing today in my Friday work shirt. I don't think the shirt shrank either. The struggle is real. Getting back on track!

We can do this! We just need to remember our 'Why' and make it stronger than our 'Want'!

Tash

I can totally relate to this. Over the years my uniform would inevitably feel tight sometimes (re: post any holiday and Christmas lol) and I would look sausage-esque while at work. I always found it to be a good motivation to eat healthy/keep on track while at work (admittedly less so while not sausaging and at home lol). Just remember that if you stick to your guns it’ll work out. As everyone else has said: one day at a time, remember your why, and most of all be kind… I always felt so ashamed, so don’t do what I did, learn from my mistakes!! :p

Ooof I finally faced the music and weighed myself this morning. I'm up 4lbs since last round. But I'm trying not to be hard on myself. I wasn't in the right headspace and was struggling. Thankfully, I think work will ease up from next week and I'll have more energy and less stress

Most likely a couple pounds of that is water weight, you can do this!! I just dropped 2 lbs from one morning to the next with a good day of eating and hydration, because some minor cheating had shot up my water retention again.

Bridget P.

I am up too and trying real hard to get back down! Good luck to you!

There's a 91% increase in dying of cardiovascular disease with an 8:16 or less fasting schedule according to the American heart association! https://www.nbcnews.com/health/heart-health/intermittent-fasting-risk-cardiovascular-death-rcna143853

8 years ago was pre-COVID, I'd be interested to see if there was a control group and if they also saw an increase of dying from heart disease

Ali

Eli, there were differing increases depending on how much the people fasted, including those who only fasted for 8 hours which is effectively sleeping time.

I am so frustrated (and depressed! I have a severe pinched nerve in my neck (over three weeks now) and can barely move. I have been to the chiropractor (another appointment Monday) but not getting any relief. I am always so healthy and strong, so I am not handling this very well. Any advice? Sorry to be so negative today.

I had a sciatic nerve problem in September and it lasted 3 months. It was excruciating. I went to doctor and got muscle relaxers and PT. But it felt like it lasted so long. The only relief I got was laying down. I hope you feel better soon.

Katherine M.

Thank you everyone! My doctor is sending me to an orthopedic for an MRI, so we will see what that shows. I have never heard of Salonpas, but I will look it up! I am sorry some of you are going through this too! Thankful for this community!

Thanks for your support everyone. I took your advice and I'm going to focus on just making healthy choices, even if I don't have the energy to track, I don't want to comfort eat or binge. If I maintain and get back on the horse that's still a win. I'm going to try to slowly get back into it from this weekend on and I might lose the round but I'll still be doing what's best for my wellbeing. I've about 10lbs to win the game, 12lbs to be a healthy weight, and about 20lbs to my end goal. I wanted to get to my end goal by the end but it would just mean so much to be a healthy weight again and that's just a pound a week...

You are making progress, even if you don't go at the pace you idealize mentally. But you are doing good things for yourself, remember that!

Great way to look at it. Life has no deadlines, just live it smart

I'll be honest, I've been lurking mostly because the scale and inches aren't budging. And I've cut the sugar, upped the protein, stuck to the meal plan from the dietitian. And here we still are. It's been disheartening.

But I've just got back from a NSV--one that shows my body overall is improving.

I walked with the dog for an hour through alternating stretches of snow from shoveled pavement to 18 inches deep drifts. More snow than paved. And I did it without panting [there was deep breathing!] or feeling like my heart is about to beat out of my chest. And I guess I could even count the fact that I even thought doing it was a good idea as a mental NSV too
