Hi Katherine! I think it’s only $5 membership as long as you sign up at the same time as joining a Dietbet game. I don’t think you can choose to pay $5 in the middle of a game.

  • I’m about to get personal (sorry..I do that a lot). But part of learning and growing is sharing our experiences with others in order to gain feedback and help others, am I right?! I’m currently living with the man I love..who no longer loves me back. How do I do it and with a smile on my face?

    I wake up everyday and make happiness a priority. I’m still here because it’s incredibly hard for me to give up on people—especially those I’ve made a vow to. But everyday, as we crawl nearer and nearer to the finish line, I’m learning to choose me. To put my happiness first and stop living for others. I’m finding my strength and realizing that I’m not giving up, I’m letting go.

    I’m breaking down the walls that have confined me for 13 years. And I’m rooting for every single one of you who are going through some kind of mental/emotional/physical/spiritual turmoil right now. We are all gods and goddesses with the power to create the best versions of ourselves and that begins with choosing happiness!

Loving someone who doesn't love you back is very difficult.  You are worth every bit of someone else's love. I live my life believing that everything happens for a reason. You seem like a sweet, outgoing person. There is someone out there who will love you back. You will find your love, once that crawl to the finish line is done. Love yourself first and always.


Oh, this is what weightloss journey is for me, it is not only about loosing weight but also about taking control of your life, about sorting it out. I send you my support and positive thoughts, it will get better!

I'm a bit worried. I made a yearly pass to the gym and I got a nutritional consult + personal training as a bonus. Yesterday I had the first meeting and he said I'm eating too little. He took all the measures and will let me know the "new diet" and training program next week.
I'm happy because I hope I'll be healtier, but I'm also worried because I'm not sure it will include losing more weight...

Agree with the above. Eating too FEW calories can hinder weight loss GREATLY, AND you’ll be miserable. I wouldn’t think the nutritionist would recommend that either so you should be good. Probably will recommend cardio vs strength training right now anyway if you explain the situation. Toning is fine, but you don’t necessarily want to build muscle while you’re doing this. It does burn more calories though so... If you eat too little your body thinks it’s starving and goes into protective mode. Drink LOTS of water to keep flushing the fat OUT, but definitely don’t go below 1000-1200 calories. It’s counterproductive. Best of luck, and let us know what he/she says. :thumbsup:

Agree with the fact that upping your calories should be fine, it’s trial and error so just see. However don’t be put off about building muscle - in fact strength training is actually v.important for weight loss. It won’t make you bulky and it won’t make you heavier unless you’re eating excessively. I have been doing strength training,building muscle and have lost 10kg since January. Plus I’m developing a nicer shape, maintaining more curves than I would if I just did cardio. And just to clarify - toning is actually the result of building muscle and losing fat. So the best approach for that is cardio, strength, good diet and quality sleep. :grin:

Am so frustrated that I just want to crawl into bed and give up everything. I'm walking and working out enough that I'm sore every day, I'm not going over it my calories, ever (and so I'm hungry and eating apart from my family/coworkers for every meal) and ...nothing. theres no loss, no size change, no anything.

I hate it, I hate this body, and I just can't care.

I've barely been working out at all, actually not at all really...minor changes like parking farther away and stuff...but I've been doing keto with 4/20 intermittent fasting (just 2 cups of black coffee) and I think I've found what feels the best for me with this....my energy is up and the weight is coming off...maybe try something different and something more sustainable for you

Do you have access to a pool? Maybe at a local gym? You mentioned pain in your joints and if you take the pressure off your joints, you may able to do more and burn more calories. Maybe try a water class or just swimming laps. Water classes have a rep for being for older women but they really aren't....they can be a good workout and burn a lot of calories. Or if water isn't an option, look for another way to burn calories that may be easier on your joints.

Also make sure you have a consistent wake up/go to bed time to regulate it. There are theories that our natural sleep cycle is really short bursts of a few hours throughout the day but the 8 hour work shift created by the industrial revolution changed our schedule so that we try to get all our sleep in one 8 hour block. This is why retirees tend to sleep a few hours get up and do something then go back to bed. I try to do the same thing; when I wake up in the middle of the night I go do dishes or paperwork or something until I'm ready to sleep a few more hours. It honestly feels more restful and productive.


Wow! Thanks everyone. I’ll definitely try some of these suggestions. I currently only take a multivitamin and only drink 1 caffeine drink a day, in the morning.
