So... this morning was quite a shock. I went to do my official weigh-in and I was up SIX POUNDS (basically) overnight. Ostensibly from eating my body-weight in sweets yesterday and the non-stop potluck food. Likely mostly water-weight, but still not something I want to see first thing in the morning.

Anyone else have that problem, post-Easter?

I am up but 2 pounds which was a bummer but I am determined to do better. My daughter is down .6 pounds and she has bragging rights right now. Haha

Good morning Peeps!! Happy Friday! This was a short week for me, so I am happy how fast it got to the weekend. We are on DAY 5 already - can you believe it?! I plan on still weighing in on WW tomorrow on my normal WI day, and will log it here. I am hoping for a loss this week, even though it was my birthday week. I've been known to gain FIVE pounds this week in the past, so this Diet Bet couldn't have come at a better time.

Weekends used to be tricky for me. Well, let me rephrase that. I'd do awesome Monday through Friday and then come Friday night I'd yell 'it's the weekend!!!!" and then drink all the wine and eat all the things. It was like being on a hamster wheel - lose weight during the week, regain it on the weekend and basically either maintain, or lose and gain the same 2 pounds over and over.

I now treat the weekends like the weekdays - I typically only eat two big meals on the weekend, which helps me feel like I am indulging, but still staying on plan. I usually go to bed the same time and wake up maybe at 7:30 instead of 6:30. Makes all the difference!

What are your strategies for managing the weekends??

Already down 2 lb from last week, yay Diet Bet!! My strategy is to not drink because I eat like an asshole when I drink.

Oh man, samsie. I do great on the weekdays when I have structure, but the weekends are so chaotic I eat whatever whenever. I like the idea of giving myself two cheat meals, then sticking on-plan for the rest. At the least, it would make me be a bit more mindful of my food choices.

  • WATER CHALLENGE! Time to set this week off right! Personally I aim to drinik a gallon of water daily. I follow a water schedule and use a gallon so i can make sure i get my water in for the day! This also keeps me from overeating. This week I challenge you to drink more water even if it's just adding a cup! Let us know when you do below!

  • Good Morning everyone!! And a happy Monday to you all! I know more people are going to join in as we start so please remember to introduce yourselves :).

    I always enjoy kicking off our first week with a “staying active” challenge! This week I want all of us to really focus on getting our sweat on! I would like to see at least 30 minutes each day of activity this week (5-4 days total). You can walk, run, swim, dance, or even take a kick boxing class :). Just focus on getting that heart rate up this week! I think this is the perfect challenge to jump start our motivation and drive! You can either post daily your fitness tracker results, a sweaty selfie, or even a simple “I did ____ today”. OR you can wait until the end of the week to let me know you reached your goal. Feel free to post on the DietBet page or Facebook. I check both places several times a day.

    I will pick two winners who completed the challenge on Monday morning 3/24/19 PST for a $10 Amazon Giftcard. Let’s get moving!!
