  • So…it’s been a minute. I haven’t posted in a LONG while. More significantly I have not weighed in, have not kept track of things, have pretty much fallen off of and out of any routine and momentum I was so proud to have started with 2021. We had some loss to contend with, some life and other changes…but still…

    I’ve had some wins, though, too: I ran a second 5k in August. I climbed/hiked ‘The Incline’ in September—a climb/hike of 2,000 feet of elevation in less than a mile. So, I was pressing forward in activity, and literally sprinting backward in other areas. I took my eye off water intake, off food planning…off accountability. The sofa became my favourite hangout.

    And so now I’m here, in the group that brought me so far from the start of the year. I’m posting this morning in both DB games I’m currently in (and losing, at the moment) to raise my hand and say the next mountain starts now for me. One step forward and up at a time. Don’t know if I can get to the top of the summit this time, but I sure am going to try. There’s time left, and I’m going to start weighing in, start watching my nutrition choices…guess I’m just going to START. You all are an inspiration to me, and the positivity I feel when I check in is a good reminder on why it’s important that I come back each week. Good luck to all these next few months—I’ll be seeing you!

And same for me. I was doing great then I don’t know what happened. But I’m over the failure and disappointment and back to focusing on my goals because onward and upward is the best way to go.

  • Today was my 30th day since starting keto! 😁 I had 5 "mess-up" meals in total, no regrets though, still proud of myself. I celebrated today with one piece of keto fudge. Going to continue the keto!

IceT - I went ahead and used 3/4 cups of Lily's Milk Chocolate (no sugar added), 3/8 cup Just Peanuts Peanut Butter, and 1 tablespoon of butter. Combined it all in microwave dish and microwaved in intervals until melted (stirring in between). Then spread it out in a dish and sprinkled some peanuts on top! Cooled it in freezer for 1 hour and sliced. Made 9 servings. :grin:

Fell off my keto diet yesterday (22nd day😭). After going to the hospital for my son, and coming home at 4am, I was left feeling EXHAUSTED. I knew all I needed was some extra sleep, but didn't have time to get any, and I found myself finally eating instead. I really strayed from my diet, HUGELY. Lots of sweet treats that left my stomach feeling horrible. Today I have a massive headache and I'm just feeling terrible. I will be resuming Keto today. Any tips for weight management during stressful times that catch you out of nowhere? I hate how life sometimes catches me off guard.

    Did anyone find themselves thinking of things they were grateful for more over the weekend?

    Part of our journey here - even more important than meeting our weight loss goals - is our relationship with our bodies. If we can change our mindset surrounding our bodies, the number on the scale stops holding so much "weight."

    So, today, please share with us why you are grateful for the body you have.

    What has it done for you? What does it allow you to do?

    Remembering this has really helped me put things in perspective: Our bodies are just a vessel to help us live fulfilling lives.

It has allowed me to find balance between enjoying myself and taking care of myself. I love traveling, but when I used to eat while traveling I would eat till I felt sick and it would ruin the other parts of the experience for me. Now I eat better (while still indulging here and there) and I feel so much better.

Silly Question but if it’s a 6 month weight loss competition why does it have you losing 10% of your weight by round 5 then a whole month of Maintenace? What am I missing?

And the whole transformer is 10% so you’d have to lose more than your end target goal to be disqualified.


I join Kickstarters so I don't lose my momentum when that happens.

Any tips for unwinding at the end of the day?!? Today was a super productive day, but now I'm left feeling completely exhausted and all I want to do is turn the TV on and eat some comfort food.

I'm trying to change my habits but haven't found one to replace this splurging behavior (which is what I do when I'm mentally exhausted but not ready for bed , or when I'm super stressed). Doesn't help that my weight seems to have plateaued, just making me more stressed.

I love to do dance videos on YouTube. I know you said unwind…sometimes it is something that helps me get out stress or energy, and feel more connected with my body. Hip hop videos, Zumba, there’s tons of free ones, even ones to all Disney songs. I think they’re fun.

  • Today was quite a challenge for me, I woke up with a massive headache and couldn't tell whether or not it was the "Keto Flu". All I wanted to do was grab all of my son's sweet treats out of our pantry and indulge! But instead, I grabbed keto options, which didn't satisfy my sweet tooth, but they did fill me up. I finished my day with a new recipe, and it made my whole day's struggle worth it! My favorite Keto meal yet!!!! If you like Asian/Thai/peanut flavors, this recipe is a must try! I added bacon and chicken to make it more filling.
    Also if you have any fav keto meals, please let me know! I'm still looking for more Keto recipes to try!

Not sure what you would call it, but the other day I diced up zucchini and layered the bottom of a large cake pan, sprinkled with everything but the bagel and olive oil, mixed so it was evenly coated. I then layered on some cheese. On top of the cheese I put layered on diced onion, mushrooms and ground up roast beef. Baked for 25 minutes. Topped it off with provolone cheese and baked for another 25. It was delicious and I will be making it again this weekend. My husband, who isn't keto loved it as well.


Peta - it just depends on your body. I can't have artificial sweeteners every day and lose weight. And, I don't make recipes from abigmansworld because I always gain weight from them (the sweet ones anyway). So you'll just have to experiment. If you make a lot of keto treats and your weight-loss slows, then you might want to eliminate or slow them down.
