Back to weighing myself daily for non judgmental feedback and not as a source of identity.

So thankful for a change in mindset and moving into freedom from body shame.

Just ordered a book by Jess Connolly about freedom from body shame. Highly recommend her podcast.

My goal is to lose 15 pounds this year focusing on 2 pounds a month like how Illana lost 12 pounds over 6 months. Very inspiring.

  • So excited! Just finished Illana DietBet with lots of fluctuations but I lost 2 pounds. I gained lots of NSVs and learned so much about myself and healthy mindset for weight loss.

    I’m 45, single with no children and struggled with an eating disorder in my teens and 20s and with emotional eating in my 30s.

    Finally have a healthy relationship with food and the scale in my 40s with 2B Mindset but DietBets can be triggering for me.

    Decided I need some extra support to help me not obsess over losing weight since I have a history with an eating disorder

    Reached out to a dance therapist and doing a free zoom call with her next week on resources to help me heal my body image. She also does virtual talk therapy for people struggling with body image issues and eating disorders if anyone is interested.

    Going to start reading a book by Lisa Bevere called You Are Not What You Weigh

  • Up 1.2 pounds today from eating something late last night with friends

    Would appreciate prayer and encouragement not to obsess over losing weight and drinking lots of water. I struggled with anorexia age 15 to 25 and I Am now 45 and don’t want to obsess over a number on a scale and what I eat.

    Anyone else can relate?

    My weight has fluctuated during the DietBet for different reasons and I’m back where I started.

    Focusing on non scale victories

    Eating healthier
    Drinking more water
    Weighing more consistently
    Have more energy
    Learning more about my tracker and how sensitive I am to sodium and carbs
    Learning how I learn or lose
    Big gain - lower belly pouch is gone!
    Fitting into some smaller shorts that were tight one month ago!!

    What are your non scale victories?

    Second, I can totally relate. I too suffered from an eating disorder when I was younger, anorexia starting at age 13 then bulimia in my 20s. Now at almost 40, I still get triggers. I think it is part of my struggle to lose weight and break plateaus sometimes because I worry if I "try" too hard those old behaviors will come back. I have young kids and I never want them to see me restricting or focusing too much on my body, because I don't want them to have to same issues I had.

    I wish I had some great advice, but if you ever want to chat I am in IG moyets2. Warning, not super active on there :)

I can so relate to what you speak about. I want to break the cycle and know I need to but these awful tendencies creep back in at my lowest points. I have a beagle too (not the best dog for walking unless I’m looking for slow-very slow for sniffing)
