  • Meal prepped our breakfasts for next week! These are healthy and delicious and best of all about 50 calories each! These are full of spinach, asparagus, and mushrooms.

  • Oh damn. Now I see the reason my legs are throbbing.

@hippiechik the answer is yes and yes. Throbbing and discomfort are signs of metabolism. And the gym is an excellent alternative. I don’t think your muscles will know the difference

  • One of my favorite snacks is mango w/ chili! I use penzeys Pico Fruta but you can really use any chili spice. It feels like such a treat.

What are some favorite healthy treats y'all have?

  • This is one of my favorite easy low carb snacks. Small piece of good quality cheese, thin slice of salami, roasted red pepper and an olive. Lots of flavor!

So body pump on Tuesday left me with such bad DOMS yesterday and today, I had to skip my workouts to give my body a rest! I'm thinking it probably will be just as bad tomorrow but I'll stay positive and wake up when I usually do to see if it's possible to get to the gym. If not, no big deal. I can get back to it next week and save body pump for the end of the week next time. 😂 In the meantime, I've focused more on my nutrition to help feed my muscles and tried to take short walks to keep my legs from getting stiff.

What do y'all do when the DOMS hits bad?

Keep moving! It sucks and it hurts at first but it’ll help the pain. Also, make sure you’re drinking enough water

What’s DOMS?

  • Good so far. Did my pretty tough workout this morning and after a walk it was still hard to get up from my desk all morning. Killed my legs and shoulders.

Plenty of steps. Just need a bit of consistency with the walking.

Water, water, water.... I struggle to drink enough water every day. I have no problem drinking 4 cups of coffee in the morning when trying to meet a deadline at work. I can easily down 4 cups of plain black tea in the afternoon. Don’t even ask me about wine... but water? Why is drinking it so hard? Is anyone else struggling like me? What are your tips & tricks to drinking enough water throughout the day?

I have a water bottle that is clear with the hours if the day lines on it. It really holds me accountable and people at work see it on my desk and call me out on not drinking enough :joy:

@Momac you are absolutely right! Overall, I probably do drink enough liquids, if I count coffee & tea. For some reason I just don’t think about them as “water.” Probably because I enjoy them as I would dessert. :joy: it’s completely irrational, but I do. You are right! Thanks!

  • Yoga in the morning feels so good for my achy back! Anyone else do DDP yoga? A friend turned me into it several years ago and it's now my favorite AM at home workout!

Weighed in this morning and I'm up from yesterday... so annoying when I don't cheat and gain anyway????. I know it is temporary, all the good choices add up in the end, daily fluctuations don't matter! Have a super Thursday everyone!

I'm doing DDPY too! I'm on week 5 of bed to chair, but changing up the workouts as I get stronger!

I just started DDPY, on week one, but I'm excited to see where this program will take me!!!

  • I’m reading through all these posts and it looks like everyone had a good Wednesday, sticking to their goals! So inspiring! I’m definitely happy with my activity today - don’t make it to pilates, which I was totally okay with. I rescheduled it for tomorrow so I can get some muscle work in this week. Have a great night, all!

  • Just had some Japanese curry. But that’s not bad considering my lunch was cottage cheese and cucumbers. Plus a 130cal protein shake. Followed by another protein shake 3 hours later.

Anyways still a decent amount of movement today. Tomorrow too, but I’m not sure about pulling out the bike. At night it’s a big commitment. And Central Park is dark and scary. But if I don’t make great progress by Saturday, then I don’t have much choice.

Do you belong to a gym? I love being outside first choice - but for weather and odd hours I use Planet Fitness!!

@Cindy that’s a great point about gyms. I do not belong to any and all the ones near me are rather expensive. Planet fitness at 10 bucks is a steal I tell you.

Today was rough. My job has been in a state of chaos this entire year with no relief in site. That along with losing my Gramma in April has made it really, really hard to focus on weight loss... I wasn't able to make it to the gym today, but i stuck to my eating plan and even said "no thank you" to free Chipotle or Panera from my boss today.

Things are difficult but I'm proud of myself for sticking to my plan and not using work as an excuse to put myself on the back burner!

Way to stick to the plan, congrats!
