Worked hard to get extra steps even though I have a fresh tattoo on my leg!

Went the extra mile today, literally. Ran 7.5 instead of my usual 3.5.

Anyone know when we can weigh in for the final weight? I’m going out of town for a funeral next week so I’m trying to plan to make sure I am within the window! Thanks!

It looks like you paid for the diet bet membership so you should actually be able to weigh in a few days early and it will still count....not sure exactly when though

  • If you had to choose one thing that makes the biggest difference for you in your weight loss success, what would it be?
For me it used to be counting calories. I had great success with that. Now it would be to get plenty of sleep. My sleep schedule has never been that great and it effects my energy and food cravings for the whole day. I need plenty of sleep to feel motivated to live healthy!

I’ve been able to calorie count and cut out all “bad” drinks and consume o my water and black tea or coffee. With all that, if I have something to work towards that helps keep me even more motivated than just reaching a goal weight, I find it helps me. For instance, this past June we took a family trip to the Bahamas and I lost 50lbs from March to June. From June to now I’ve only managed to lost 15lbs and am struggling to figure out what’s causing the slow down.

Prioritizing pre planning so there isn’t a reason to be off track. Taking walked to clear head without technology so it’s just me time. Consistency and not comparing self to
Others. Social media can make this very very hard

Why do I always sabotage myself? I got on the scale this morning and have hit my 4% yay!!! Right? But then I go into work and eat two cookies. I have to figure out how to have the success and accept it and continue forward. Instead of saying yeah I’m good and then going backwards. It’s a vicious cycle.

Agree with everybody else. Two cookies. Grand scheme of things?!? It’s TWO. Don’t let that depress you and make you fall off the wagon. Get back up there, girl! You can have two cookies! Just like was said above...you RECOGNIZED what could happen this time/ the cycle. If that’s not progress I don’t know what is. Super proud of you!!! AND you held yourself accountable by coming HERE and posting. I’m telling YOU....!! WOOO!! YOU are on the right track!!

Laurie L.

You will NOT sabotage yourself this time. We won’t let you!!!! :kissing_heart:

  • A shout out to getting plenty of sleep to help with weight loss!

"A sleep-deprived body will produce more of the stress hormone cortisol. Cortisol triggers the reward center in your brain and makes you crave food. You produce the most growth hormone while you're sleeping, which helps burn fat as well as repair and build muscles so you can increase strength and lose weight."https://www.topfitnessmag.com/lifestyle/sleep-important-weight-loss/

I struggle with this so much. For me this is the biggest part of my weight loss plan. Is sleep an issue for you?

I totally agree. With two sick babies and a sick husband last week I was on the struggle bus on the scale. Over the past two days I caught up on sleep and saw the scale move again! Thank goodness everyone is feeling better.

Food choices are such an important part in a successful weight loss plan! For one day (Aug. 23rd) I'd like to challenge you to track all your food intake and to try and calculate the calorie amounts. I know so many of you are already great at this and are pros at tracking calories daily. But, if it's not a common practice for you it can teach you so much about yourself and your habits.

If you complete the challenge please comment below this post and report in there. Everyone who completes the challenge will be put in our drawing for $20 in PayPal cash or an Amazon gift card. The winner will be announced Friday night!

Have a happy and healthy Friday!

  • Nutrition Tip:

Keep Healthy Easy To Prepare Snacks Around!

Keeping healthy food nearby can help prevent you from eating something unhealthy if you become excessively hungry.

Some snacks that are easily portable and simple to prepare include whole fruits, nuts, baby carrots, yogurt and hard-boiled eggs.

What quick and healthy snacks do you keep around to help keep hunger in check?

I love having pistachios in the pantry. I splurge with this item and get them shelled!

I snack on mozzarella cheese sticks and berries. I did try the built bars, but don't like all the flavors.

Is working out part of your weight loss plan? What is your go-to workout? It's great to find a way to burn calories that you can look forward to. I love taking my family for hikes.
So what is your workout plan? How many times a week are you aiming for and how long are your workouts?

  • Getting some muscles!😁

I accept! I played tennis that day with my friend for 2 hours, then we played basketball for 40 mins, and then I did yoga, walking, and stretching at night for a combined 85 mins. It was a very active day!

  • Have you set goals for yourself?
I'm so happy you are here and part of the group! Some of you are beginning your weight loss journey and some are nearing the end but most of us are somewhere in the middle. Most likely you have a number in mind as your ultimate goal weight! But, no matter how close you are to that it's a great idea to create a set of goals for yourself. I would like to encourage you to share your plan to re-inspire yourself and others, or sit down and form a plan if you haven't yet. If you're at the beginning, think of just one thing you can do today to make yourself healthier as a starting point, no matter how small. That success will propel you forward. Think small goals that will lead you to your big goals! And just for fun let us know where you're from. I'm in Southern UT!

    Let's get going!!!

Im about midway through I suppose. I’m focusing on BMI vs the number on the scale, but obviously the number on the scale is related to BMI :joy: You know what I mean though hopefully. I’m in steaming HOT Alabama!!

Hi, I’m in DC area. Currently 60lbs down in hopes of 40 more pounds by end of the year. Kind of been in a plateau last month or so, I’m excited to get the weight dropping again! All the best everyone!
