  • I read about the scientific study that hulahooping with weighted hoop ( 1.5kg) for 13-15 min per day for 6 weeks can shrink your waist more than walking 10.000 steps per day (3cm with hulahoop compared to 0.9cm with walking).
    As I’m already getting my daily steps, I decided to give this a try! So far I’ve even managed to continue 30 seconds in one go! 😃????

I've often thought about trying this. Do you have any advice on picking out a hula hoop? I've only ever used the ones from toy section, and that has been many, many, many years

Word just came down that gyms will be closing in Oregon AGAIN!!! Agh!!! In my county for at least 4 weeks! Not good!! Now I’ll have to be even more disciplined!!

I belong to Planet Fitness and they offer on-line classes, as well as I have weights at home. It’s just harder when I’m on my own without my friends!

What do you feel it is that makes the Sunday football day toughest for you? Do you have favorite foods or tradition or the camaraderie? Do you have the same feelings if your team plays on Monday or Thursday night?

@Katt, wow, that's a long day. They say will power is actually like a muscle, you can basically deplete it.

@SkyLark I associate football with food, we also fry up good food, and cook a lot more during games.

Today’s NSV- my stitch fix arrived with jeans that are too big and I had to exchange them for a size down! Woohoo! First time that’s happened despite being on goal in my 6 month bet. :)

This challenge hasn't gone as I had hoped, but I've decided not to throw in the towel. After successfully completing round 1, I proceeded to gain all the weight back plus some 😑 I didn't even weigh in for round 3 being so discouraged.
Yesterday I decided my new mantra is "I Can, and I WILL!" My motivation is back, and I joined a kickstarter. Even if I do not get to the needed 6% by the end of round 5 to be eligible for the final round, I plan to give it my best shot.
My weigh in this morning has me at 5% of my goal.
Praying for inspiration, determination and the will to follow through with healthy choices, one day at a time

I made it with half a pound to spare! I feel empowered that I went 7 1/2 days with no carbs and no sugar. It helped that I posted it here. There was the accountability factor. I actually felt pretty good. No sugar rush and crash from drinking a can of Coke! The next two months we have little to lose but the holidays make it tricky. Good luck everyone! We’ve got this!

My why- I’ve had spinal issues since childhood. They morphed into joints & nerve damage over time. Ive used a cane since age 47 & had recently started with a walker at 60 yr old. When I started my new journey to change I’d had a wake up call- after my average weight hubby had emergency bypass surgery last Christmas I started emotionally eating, then Covid didn’t help. By June I weighed in- 250 lbs! I’ve never weighed so much in my life. I knew from my Doctors that I wasn’t far from a wheel chair. Pain kept me from doing a lot of fun stuff with our grandkids. So I had a choice- do whatever I could to get weight off, strengthen my legs & improve my health. Started extreme cut in calories/carbs then in August I was able to start riding a recumbent (stationary) bike. I’ve had a couple slow spells lately as far as lbs but not giving up! 43 lbs off so far. I’m starting to look better & feeling a little better too. Don’t give up people!!

Get into multiple dietbets that are staggered all at different times, then you can't. I just got into my 3rd transformers, in 3 kickstarters, and finished 3 other kickstarters already.
