The first month was easy-ish because there was so much low hanging fruit, but this month it’s getting a little harder to lose. I’m on one of those annoying plateaus where I see the change on my body, but not the scale. Makes me feel like I’m crazy!

Me: My clothes are looser and I see that muscle that disappeared years ago.
Scale: Stop kidding yourself. You’re just as fat as ever.
Me: But what about the belt? I’m down a notch!
Scale: who are you going to believe? Me, or your lying eyes? They use me for science. Your eyes think a slice of pizza is half the calories if you fold it in half before you eat it.
Me: But... You’re probably right. Sigh.

The first month is always easier for me because that first bit of weight comes off quick because of the lifestyle change then your body figures it out and it’s harder to lose or takes longer.

Then. Not having the foods available make it even harder!

Strive for the best everyday!
This week was my first week I gained ounces and lost nothing! I was sad but just decided it was my body catching up. Idk.

Smoke is really bad here in Montana from the fires in California, Oregon and Washington. We are cooped up with the windows closed and the air purifiers running. No 10,000 steps today!

You can get your steps in. Take a hiit class. Walk around kitchen table. They add up. Also I get sooooo many when I clean the house

    I’ve rode my bike the first month of the challenge but I don’t feel like that’s enough.

Hey pretty lady! Here are some ideas:
Youtube: Mike Peele - Hip Hop Fit (350-400cal/35-45 min)
Elliptical: high intensity (30min, 160bpm and up = 500/600 cal) OR 2nd heart rate zone [HOW I GOT THROUGH MY WEIGHTLOSS PLATEAU AND HAVE DROPPED 5LBS THIS WEEK!] (60min, 120-140bpm = 600cal)

You’re gonna have to calculate for the heart rate zones what that would be for your age! The app I use with my Apple Watch to track is called: FITIV ! The idea of low heart rate/long distance training is getting your body in a “fat burning state” since weirdly, higher heart rates create just burn fat by building muscle! Which trust me: I am the queen of high intensity, and Hiit! I also love Jillian Michaels 90 day transformation videos (they do insane body transformations but the scale won’t move much. Quickest visual results I’ve seen. Been my secret to looking trim and curvy since 2012) but when you’re trying to get the number down, the lower effort, long distance is way better. Think about it: Sprinters are usually more muscular, while Long Distance runners are more lean! All about balance:heart:

WATCH FOR LOW HEART RATE TRAINING INFO! Leaves you waaaaay less exhausted! Yes it takes longer to get the calories, but it’s way way way more sustainable to me. Just watch some YouTube, Netflix, or listen to your favorite playlists or audible books, and boom! You’re done!

Hi, I think its because half the bet ($17.50) went in the round 1 pot and the other half went to the round 6 pot. So we get the round 1 $17.50 plus $2.23, cha-ching LOL!

How in the hell will I make the next weight. I struggled a lot to get this one!! I feel like I can't do anymore than I'm already doing. I can't eat any less. What am I missing. At the rate I'm going I should easily lose more than a pound a week.

Does anyone else's weight vary wildly, and not necessarily with your eating and activity level? I know what it is: water weight (dehydrated if it's unexpectedly low, bloated if it's unexpectedly high), inflammation, unpassed stool, what part of my cycle I'm in... But my weight might vary by 4lb over the course of the week. And I'm not that big so the 3% goal is a smallish number and doesn't give me much margin of error. If a weigh in falls on a "bad" day it's so frustrating! No advice needed, but I would love to know that I'm not a freak and other people struggle with this too!

So frustrated. I cant get the scale to move. If I don't do a crazy workout and eat nothing it starts creeping up. I cannot maintain this lifestyle for 6 months!

It might be easier if you come up with a daily baseline calorie range to stay within (most people do around 1500-2000 per day depending on their activities). Then learn a couple foods and go-to meals you can rely on that keep you motivated and happy. I found the more variables I mixed in (counting the macros, attempting unrealistic amounts of or types of exercise, eliminating some foods/banning food groups) was just too much "sacrifice" for me. I have found it's easier to focus on sticking to a basic goal of just eating about 500 less calories than I should be no matter what. If I want to eat some high calorie food, then I do, just eat low calorie foods for the other meals. Last week I really wanted a burger and fries. So that day I ate a low calorie breakfast (breakfast bar and a LOT of coffee), a low calorie lunch (salad with low cal dressing), some low calorie snacks, and then happily ate that burger and fries with glee for dinner.

Starting 2 classes for my Masters Degree today at Penn State. Its been a long time since I was student. Keeping up with school, full time job (also at Penn State) taking care of family is going to be tough. Im worried about diet and exercise falling behind everything else. I need to do this for myself!!

  • Just finished a ride! MAD_air for anyone that uses the Peloton app and wants to be friends. Fun fact, you don’t need the equipment, the app has yoga, walking, running, strength training and more. There is a trial for free and then it is a cheap monthly service. I started using it before I had a bike and I loved it. Have a great day everyone and get you booty moving!
