  • Heading to NC. Hurricane coming so probably will stay more inland for a bit, not sure what’s happening yet BUT I packed all my fav things to help me stick to my normal routine as much as possible. I will still be eating the same meals as my family for the most part! Portion control. Moderation. But mostly just ENJOYING my time and not worrying about food. My life doesn’t revolve around food anymore.

    What I’m bringing:

    My alani nu protein bars for sweet snacks while traveling/while at destination. Some veggie straws to snack on! My healthy eating on the go bars for my breakfast as well as premier proteins for my morning coffee. I put them in a ziplock bag to prevent a mess just in case they open (never had this issue though) Also packed Alani nu energy drinks, these are a daily staple to help me feel full and give me energy. My husband likes these too so I got some for him 😂

Amanda- the drinks are my fav to give me that boost of energy and also the carbonation helps my stomach feel full in between meals! And the bars are AMAZINGGGGG. Like a candy bar! They are a rice krispy texture with thick coating of frosting ontop

    We have a little over a week left, some will hit the 4% and some may not. A little over a week of this challenge, but the REST of your life for this lifestyle change. What are you doing to make this a lifestyle change? Are you restricting like crazy for 4 weeks just to hit the goal? And then go back into your same bad habits as before? If that’s the case….I am not doing my job here!
    ?Is being more disciplined during this challenge helpful? OF COURSE. But remember as soon as its over, you have to continue building these healthy habits. If you feel so restricted for these 4 weeks, you are way more likely to fall into a binge or fall back into old habits after. Remember OUR MAIN GOAL is SUSTAINABLE weight loss. Keeping it off FOR GOOD THIS TIME. Take these new healthy habits you are developing and continue them after these 4 weeks. Come back for my next dietbet in October and be THAT much closer to your end goal! Don’t come back at the same place as you are right now! NO MORE OF THAT SAME CYCLE. You can do this!

    I am leaving tomorrow for my North Carolina trip. I will show you what I am packing to help me stay on my routine as much as possible, but I will also be showing you how I will be eating in moderation with the rest of the family!

Start fresh the next day don’t beat my self up! But add reflection like why did u over eat what caused it. Example I usually over eat on weekends we get my fiancé’s son because we put extra fun treats in the house and I want to enjoy them to:see_no_evil::raising_hand:

    Today I wanted to talk about healthy alternatives. We are human, we crave foods! Its normal! And it’s OKAY to satisfy that craving. It is important for us to satisfy that craving in some way, otherwise it can lead to the restricting feeling that ends up in a full blown binge or massive overeating.

    One of the KEY things I did on my journey of losing -147 lbs was HEALTHY ALTERNATIVES! Finding healthier options of the things I was craving. Now that won’t ALWAYS satisfy that craving so if I was REALLY craving that mcdonalds cheeseburger for a week or so and an alternative wasn’t cutting it, I would get 1 in moderation and move on! However, making a juicy cheeseburger at home with all the toppings can be just as good and make you feel a sense of accomplishment, and probably won’t leave you with a massive stomach ache haha

    My 2 ingredient pizzaand COPYCAT KFC BOWL are examples
    I used to get a KFC famous bowl everyday in high school (I know…..I didn’t get over 300 lbs eating fruit 😑🙈) ANYWAY. Now I make them at home with healthier mashed potatoes, air fried chicken, lower fat cheese, gravy and corn! ITS LEGIT BETTER THEN THE ONE FROM KFC!!

    Small changes like this can make a huge difference so you aren’t feeling deprived of the things you love! I want you to comment down below a healthier alternative to one of your favorite foods that you’re willing to try this week (add into your meal plan for week 3)

  • You know how much I preach about sustainability, so here we go again! ITS SO IMPORTANT. When this dietbet is over I know it can be easy to celebrate with food. But lets get ahead of that.

    FIRST, is it okay to celebrate with a cupcake or a meal out with family? SURE! But don’t let that turn into multiple meals/days and slip back into the old habits. Lets come up with some non food related rewards that you can treat yourself with!

    A new outfit
    New workout shoes
    Fitbit/Apple Watch
    Get nails done/pedicure
    Get your hair done!

I'm sticking to the healthy foods and portions that were outlined to me by my dietician. I don't feel my clothes fitting any lighter but hoping to see a change this week. I'm not feeling discouraged just more motivated now to try even harder. I journal all my food I eat but thinking it could be my thyroid but still waiting for my doctor to answer me back if she can prescribe me medication after I got blood work and my dietician worried about my TSH levels.

I’m frustrated because I really worked the program(7 blue dots), exercise daily... but lost Nothing! I lost 4.2 lbs total in the previous 2 weeks & thought that was good but now I’m worried I won’t lose 1.8 to goal.
