    Today I wanted to talk about healthy alternatives. We are human, we crave foods! Its normal! And it’s OKAY to satisfy that craving. It is important for us to satisfy that craving in some way, otherwise it can lead to the restricting feeling that ends up in a full blown binge or massive overeating.

    One of the KEY things I did on my journey of losing -147 lbs was HEALTHY ALTERNATIVES! Finding healthier options of the things I was craving. Now that won’t ALWAYS satisfy that craving so if I was REALLY craving that mcdonalds cheeseburger for a week or so and an alternative wasn’t cutting it, I would get 1 in moderation and move on! However, making a juicy cheeseburger at home with all the toppings can be just as good and make you feel a sense of accomplishment, and probably won’t leave you with a massive stomach ache haha

    My 2 ingredient pizzaand COPYCAT KFC BOWL are examples
    I used to get a KFC famous bowl everyday in high school (I know…..I didn’t get over 300 lbs eating fruit 😑🙈) ANYWAY. Now I make them at home with healthier mashed potatoes, air fried chicken, lower fat cheese, gravy and corn! ITS LEGIT BETTER THEN THE ONE FROM KFC!!

    Small changes like this can make a huge difference so you aren’t feeling deprived of the things you love! I want you to comment down below a healthier alternative to one of your favorite foods that you’re willing to try this week (add into your meal plan for week 3)

  • You know how much I preach about sustainability, so here we go again! ITS SO IMPORTANT. When this dietbet is over I know it can be easy to celebrate with food. But lets get ahead of that.

    FIRST, is it okay to celebrate with a cupcake or a meal out with family? SURE! But don’t let that turn into multiple meals/days and slip back into the old habits. Lets come up with some non food related rewards that you can treat yourself with!

    Examples-
    A new outfit
    New workout shoes
    Fitbit/Apple Watch
    Get nails done/pedicure
    Get your hair done!
    ETC

    EVEN IF YOU DO NOT LOSE THE 4% I WANT YOU TO CELEBRATE ANY WEIGHT LOSS YOU HAD BECAUSE YOU ARE AMAZING. Not losing 4% DOES NOT make you a failure. I am SOOOO proud of you and you should be too! ANY weight loss should be celebrated and rewarded and not hitting the 4% goal doesnt mean you just give up! KEEP GOING.

I'm sticking to the healthy foods and portions that were outlined to me by my dietician. I don't feel my clothes fitting any lighter but hoping to see a change this week. I'm not feeling discouraged just more motivated now to try even harder. I journal all my food I eat but thinking it could be my thyroid but still waiting for my doctor to answer me back if she can prescribe me medication after I got blood work and my dietician worried about my TSH levels.

I’m frustrated because I really worked the program(7 blue dots), exercise daily... but lost Nothing! I lost 4.2 lbs total in the previous 2 weeks & thought that was good but now I’m worried I won’t lose 1.8 to goal.
I’ll try to eat clean next week (no Smart Sweets or Halo Top snacks)

  • GOODMORNING EVERYONE and happy Friday!!!!! I know sometimes the weekend can be the hardest part for a lot of people, but try to treat them like any other day of the week! Keep your plans for your meals and stick to them! If your going out to eat or spending time with friends remember to enjoy yourself. Fill your plate with fruits and veggies and proteins but also have a little portion of something you really want! Let’s keep up with those water goals and keep the momentum going through the weekend so on Monday we feel strong and ready to keep going for this next week.

  • LETS TALK WATER!

    Who here struggles to drink enough water? It can defiantly be hard! For me it became a habit overtime and now I don’t even think about it, I just drink!😂

    Why is water beneficial for a weight loss journey?

    1. Its just DANG GOOD FOR YOU! Being hydrated is so good for your body, skin, everything!
    2. Drinking lots of water before and during a meal can help with appetite and make you feel more full, less likely to over consume
    3. It helps filter toxins and can help keep your digestive system more regular!
    4. It can take the place of sugary sodas and drinks which in turn, helps with weight loss

    Here are some of my biggest tips for drinking more water! The general recommended amount of water is about 1/2 of your bodyweight in oz. So for example if you weigh 200 pounds, you want to shoot for 100oz a day. You can obviously adjust this to your needs!

  • New dessert I made tonight! Chocolate peanut butter chip cupcakes!

    1 box of sugar free chocolate cake mix
    1 can of diet Dr Pepper cherry
    4 tablespoons of Reese’s peanut butter chips

    I was able to make 14 servings so this cake out to 4 POINTS a cupcake!!!! I added 1 tablespoon of sugar free cool whip for 0 points! Yummy!!

No, I really like it! It’s like a more moist cake taste! And this cherry diet Dr Pepper gives it a great chocolate flavor! I make a lot of my cakes with diet soda! The kids love it!

    I just have to say again how freaking proud I am of ALL OF YOU for even joining! Its definitely a commitment! I want to start off by talking about our goals for this dietbet and also a giveaway! (I am not stingy with the amount of giveaways I do in here just so you know!😂)

    Yes, this game is about losing that 4%. BUT we need to make it a point to focus on NON SCALE things as well. The number is NOT everything. So I want you to tell me:

    1.) You’re WHY. Why do you want to lose weight/be a healthier version of you? What is driving you?

    2.) What is your main NON SCALE goal that you would like to accomplish (clothes fitting better, developing a new healthy habit, fitting into a goal pair of pants, a specific health goal like better bloodwork numbers, etc)

I put on 20 pounds as I had to go on prednisone last fall. I have never ( even at full term pregnancy) weighed this much. My clothes are tight. I want to be able to play with my grandsons who are 3, 1 and 4 months. I need to get healthier so I can see them grow up.
