I'm not gonna make this challenge. I gained a lot of lbs from stress and the second vaccine shot knocked me out

I agree -- congratulations on the vaccine! It also knocked me out but doing that was better for your health than losing a few lbs! Good luck with your weight loss and I hope you can still be successful in this challenge.

I'm not going to make it either. Just make a plan for getting back on track or staying on track and do what you can do. Good habits are more important than one deadline.

Depending on the way its uncomfortable, you might be able to improve it by moving the seat up or down, forward or backward, or tilt up or down. Start with the height and make small adjustments as you go. Most people ride with the seat too high. If your hips move at all, then your seat is too high. The hips should not rock at all. Then move the seat forward or back. This will change the angle of your pelvis on the seat. Your lady parts shouldn't feel crushed. If your butt is sore, you'll get used to it in a few rides. Note that if you slide the seat back, you'll also likely have to move it down slightly too. Last thing to modify is the tilt. The nose should be as low as possible without feeling like you'll slide off or having to hold yourself in position with your arms. If none of this helps then it's likely that the seat is too narrow to support your sit bones and you need a wider seat. Proper seat width has nothing to do with your pants size but is related to the width of the sit bones. Many bike shops have a thing you sit on to determine the appropriate width for you. Don't be shy to ask for their help in finding a better seat. Some bike shops will even loan them out, with a deposit. Unfortunately bike shops are notorious for (typically male) judgmental shop floor staff. Just walk away if you get any attitude. Other staff in other shops (or even the same shop) will be happy to help, attitude-free

I’m 4’11” so I have to have my seat low. It’s uncomfortable to sit on. This is due to the seat feeling hard.

  • Although I doubted whether outdoor sporting was gonne be possible today ( given code red weather warning due to snow which happens only once every decade) I did go out and it was an amazing 10 km run/trail/walk. Hope it motivates you all to get out and burn those cals! Happy sunday!

Hello!
Anyone having HUGE troubles sleeping?
I have been struggling with insomnia for over 15 years and need sleeping aid just to get 5 or 6 hours' sleep.
Lately, things have gotten worse: even if I manage to get asleep, I wake up after a couple of hours, and then after another hour and so on. Cannot sleep during the day (and I neve get sleepy, anyway).. and as many others, I have to work from 8.00 a.m. to 6 p.m. and to be 100% awake and concentrated. I walk a minimum of 5 km every morning before work, I do yoga, pranayama and meditation, take herbal teas, melatonin, I've been trying everything. I even sleep with ear plugs because the neighbouring lady is tremendously loud - TV on all night long, I can hear it as if it was in my room.
How many of you have similar problems? How do you deal with them?

Have you asked her to keep it down or get headphones? If she refuses to change, contact the landlord/property manager/HOA with a recording. If nothing happens, tell the landlord you’ll file a legal complaint. If they do nothing, really file a noise complaint. Most communities have noise ordinances. Sleep is critical for mental and physical health, or in drastic, but real terms quality of life and longevity of life! Don’t feel bad to file if she refuses to change! You can also file with neighbors if she has anyone in the other side, above, or below.

Hi Nicole, I don't know about you, but here in Italy if you file a legal complaint, maybe you get some replies after several YEARS. And it costs you a lot in legal fees which I cannot afford. I tried speaking to her landord but no results. The condo has a noise ordinance of course, but nobody cares and nobody osbserves it. I just stick to ear plugs at night, and headphones during the day while I *try* to concentrate while working from home

I set a personal goal to walk 6000 steps a day in Dec, no matter what, and accomplished it! Even getting out in bad weather was not so bad once I got moving! For Jan I increased my goal to 7500 steps since I was able to reach that most days in Dec. It takes a bit more time and effort (I have a desk job, so steps are mostly having to actually get out for a walk) but it has been great! My hips are feeling stronger and not as painful as they have been in the past. It has also helped me in losing weight! 17 lbs since Thanksgiving!
