Curious if anyone has any experience with a carnivore diet? As a guy that avoids veggies I’m wondering the positives and negatives of it. Seems hard to maintain.

A coworker and her husband did it due to some of her allergies (mold, etc.) - but he ended up with colon cancer. Obviously not a causation thing, but id definitely recommend getting a colonoscopy scheduled after you cut out fiber for a while! Maybe it's what your body needs - but best to stay on top of it?

I really liked carnivore for a short amount of time to get inflammation under control. Now I mostly do animal products because I feel best on them and focus on real Whole Foods without preservatives.

  • I just completed a transformer and made the final weigh in goal. I made 4 of the 6 monthly goals. And feel great that I stuck with it, even when I “lost” a couple of rounds. It’s been 18 months & 73 pounds. I’m looking forward to keeping up good habits and getting to a healthy BMI.

  • From 272lbs on the left down to 202lbs on the right. At my highest weight walking a mile seemed like a big task, yesterday I ran a 10k! I’m a SLOW runner, but the version of me on the left would be so proud of me now ?

I wish I could run again! I have osteoarthritis in both knees. I am getting gell injections as soon as my insurance allows them. Every pound I drop takes pressure off my knees. I owe it to my body to finally get to a healthy weight and stay there. Hopefully, after the gell injections I will be able to run again!

  • Thanks to those who gave some encouragement the other day. I pulled myself up by my bootstraps and barely made my Kickstarter, but that means as long as I don't slack and go backwards I've already made my goal for this transformer. I have an aversion to tracking calories, and portion control, and so the lifestyle that fits me best is Intermittent fasting where I can eat as much as I want in my eating window, and when I'm truly hungry for my eating times I eat good quality and quantity then I'm done. I think I'm back on track with that now, my greatest weakness is wanting to snack at night!! So I just have to "delay don't deny" my way through it, and offer it to myself the next eating window... When I don't usually want it anymore because a good healthy meal just feels so good at that point!
    Any other intermittent fasters here?

I just finished Fast, Feast, Repeat by the same author as Delay, Don’t Deny. I am trying IF but am still in the first 28 days. Crossing my fingers for Feb 1-2!

I am doing intermittent fasting. I also hate counting calories. I usually do a MWF alternate day fast. Great results so far! I do add heavy cream to my morning coffee on fasting days and that actually seems to help. Some fasting days are easier than others still. So I wouldn’t call it easy. I can tell a huge reduction in inflammation and my migraines have gone away. Reading obesity code and watching adf videos on youtube helps keep me motivated.

  • Does anyone have any healthy goto soup recipes? I love soups and need to add some new recipes to my rotation.
    Not soup - but a favorite. This is Rachel Ray’s Indian Summer Turkey Chili. I 3X the peppers to add more veggies.

Interested in any healthy recipes or ideas that don’t include a lot of vegetables 😂. Some I don’t mind but as a meat, cheese and potato guy, I’m looking for options that are an “improvement” compared to my normal diet fully understanding that salads are better.

I tend to stick with smaller changes better so I’m thinking baby steps here. 😂
