  • I am really, REALLY not much of a selfie guy ... but I figured if I am going to post this anywhere, it might as well be here.

    This was my photo from weigh in this morning (an even 200 pounds).

    The suit behind me is my motivator.

    I actually own four suits. I bought them about four years ago. I was at what I feel is my “healthy” weight (180). I then went into a Crohn’s Disease flare, lost a bunch of weight and ALL of my muscle and then proceeded to pack on everything I lost plus an extra twenty pounds. Because of the Crohn’s, I continue to struggle to lose weight and exercise without injury.

    Three of my four suits no longer fit and this is the only one I can barely squeeze in to.

    I wore this suit when I interviewed for my
    job three years ago and felt like a rock star. Every few months, I have a meeting at work that requires a suit. And I hate myself all day because I can FEEL how much extra weight I’ve carried. I always swear the suit will fit better at the next meeting, but it never does. Following my Crohn’s diagnosis, diet and exercise are just more challenging than I ever experienced.

    But ... it feels like Barre Blend is changing that. I am wrapping up week three and I feel stronger and my chronic injuries have not flared up (excellent sign). I feel challenged but in a way that is inspiring, not daunting.

    My next big meeting is Dec 16 ... and that suit is going to look AWESOME.

Barre and Elise helped me stay active through surgeries, injuries, and auto-immune flair ups. I’m so glad you’ve found this program. I love that you have a victory that’s not necessarily scale related but health minded and focusing on changes you can see physically instead of read on a number. You’ll do great!

I have a question. I am wondering why the goal depends on the scale? I joined to learn more from Elise. I know Elise doesn’t preach the scale number? I gained “weight” on barre, but slimed my body and toned my body and improved my mind thoughts. Why can’t measurements be used versus a scale number? I finally broke away from weighing daily and letting the number guide me and I worry I will now be driven by the scale again. Thoughts?

I would be sure to focus on muscle recover and food intake. “Weight” is going to be that long lean muscle mass she develops and sticking with it puts every single one of those muscles to use therefore leading to more fat burn eventually. It’s so hard to say trust the process but if you are eating ENOUGH and having things in moderation, you will still see amazing results and maybe this time they will lead to more fat burn than muscle building. I have the same question, Melissa! I’m not trying to lose weight, I’m trying to GAIN muscle. I don’t even own a scale tbh... so do we still enter the “game” if we don’t submit a photo? Will we still be exposed to the same content?

Morning everyone! Just submitted my weigh in and feeling excited about getting started.

This is my 6th round of barre blend (I think), and I love it. I still modify a lot of things because I’ve had a lot of knee, back, and shoulder problems over the years, but I’m getting stronger and in the best shape I’ve been in since 2006.

I hope everyone is starting strong today! Nothing would be better than making no money off the bet because everyone hit their goals!

Been away for a week (glamping in the rain and wind) and unable to workout plus the knock on of feeling my diet was just starting to fail... I just weighed myself and I've reached my goal. I typically hate blowing my own trumpet but I'm so proud of myself for staying mindful. Honestly I was petrified of the scales today but I've done it. Can't actually believe it.

I am 1.6 lbs away from my 4% goal and 8 days to go! This is the closest I’ve ever been without injuring myself or giving up 😆 I won’t be celebrating just yet since the family and I are going on vacation 27th-30th. I’ll gain 5 pounds easily.
