Question: will this game get you to your ultimate weight goal? If not, are you going to do other transformers? For me, this game got me started in the right direction. I've been playing shorter games for more excitement and to keep pushing ahead. However, I'm wondering about doing another transformer now. It would take me all the way to my weight goal. But that feels scary. What if I can't make it? That weight would be lower than I've been since I was 19. (I'm 47 now). Thoughts? Opinions?

Katie, I think that's how I was feeling. (That doing another transformer right now would be stressful because of the end goal being hard to achieve). Anna Elisabetta, I've been playing in multiple, staggered games to keep pushing myself. If you pay for membership, there are slower, less aggressive games (like 3% in 4 weeks or 4% in 6 weeks, etc). I've never paid for membership in the past. I think it's been very worth it. You all are saying what I was thinking...I'm going to stick to this game and shorter games. Another 6 month game doesn't make sense for me right now. Thanks for your thoughts!

I would say keep going because it gives you motivation and keeps you accountable. But definitely get the membership so you can pick smaller percentages and more attainable goals as you get closer to your  goal weight

Is there anyone here that needs to lose 4-5 pounds before the next weigh-in? I didn't make the last goal so I am going to focus on a strict calorie deficit (for me, 1500 calories a day) for the next few weeks. There is no way to just "exercise it off" between now and then. If you have similar needs I'd like to hear and share meal/food/snack ideas and portion control strategies that are easy and most of all enjoyable! I.e. no fasting or choking down juices and supplements or cutting off foods entirely cold turkey.

I have learned some days I prefer a low calorie or no breakfast so I can enjoy more at lunch and dinner so I usually have something in 100-150 calorie range for breakfast and a lot of coffee/green tea throughout the morning. I will share a quick lunch snack box that I have been making: Some form of protein like tofu, egg, or meat, serving of cheese or some greek yogurt OR more protein, a serving of fruit like berries or some apple slices, bunch of celery or cucumber sticks, and a serving of a favorite savory snack like some chips or crackers. Then a little sweet snack like some chocolate chips or some gummies. The goal being to keep the lunch box and snack/dessert total to 500-700 calories. Frees up dinner to fall into 800-900 calorie range. I would love to hear dinner ideas, it's where I really struggle. Sometimes I skip a real dinner just so I can have a giant bowl of ice cream and I feel totally happy about it. Of course you can't do it every day, but once in awhile there is nothing wrong with eating ice cream for dinner!!!!

4.5lbs to go. I’ve been selling my house and moving and my diet/workouts have been less than on point. This past week I got to the gym 5/7 days, followed plan super close, made sure my water intake was on adequate; and started IF and I am down 3# just being on track. If I stick to it, 2lbs each of these last two weeks should be no issue

Whoever wins this prize and doesn't feel like they would truly enjoy it, I won the Ninja Air Fryer last time and have not opened it yet and I WILL TRADE YOU FOR THIS!!!! I have a small kitchen and just can't keep the air fryer. I heard they are great though

Here I am a creature of reality! I am excited to lose weight but still find that my mental status gets in the way!
I am 100% on board and fully devoted to my weight loss journey of a lifetime. My willpower is stronger than I am naturally inside. This transformation is healthy and good for me.
However, I find myself super lonely and sad inside. Food was my go to when I felt this way. I am surrounded by people and have a bubbly personality. I don’t shine my deep rooted sadness, loneliness.
This journey is exceptionally hard for me because on the outside I am looking better and feeling better but on the inside I am so lost.

How do you manage?
My old behavior was to turn to carbs to make me feel better. When in reality I was killing myself.
Now, more than ever it’s harder to make new friends at 46. I feel list, empty and alone. It’s not about looking in the mirror anymore and seeing my progress. I am proud I stick to my journey of weight loss and a healthier me.
Inside I am crushed. The more effort I put towards a better me the more people around me have comments.
I’m the same person. I just took action to be a healthier me. It may scare some people but I’m reality.... it’s making me more sad and lonely.
Therapy isn’t the answer. I tried that. Finding a local group or local friends seems to be impossible. I feel that is what I need in my life to repair my loneliness. I just have NO Clue how to do that now.
I am a happy, bubbly person on the outside. Most people don’t know how much they hurt me on the inside.
Ideas on how to find groups or friends in a local area?
Walking group? Hang out group? Fitness group? Activity group? Idk...
any ideas welcome!

I highly recommend short form meditation to help with sorting out what you *think* you need. Like others mentioned we have these automatic thoughts of what we need in times of struggle-"I need to be with people/food/certain activities and I will then be happy". I thought for a long time I needed a better job or a more interesting hobby, or I needed to be more informed/smarter and I would just be happier. For a few minutes or even an hour a day I devote mindfulness to clearing my mind of all need thoughts. I found that working through the weeds of "I-need-XYZ but don't know how to get it" actually helps you see you have a lot of what you need already in front of you. I agree. One goal per round is a good strategy! My goal for this round was good sleeping habits. If I don't get enough sleep I definitely overeat.

Me too! Gotta plan for smaller "reward" meals :) I discovered Popeye's chicken tenders (no fries) make a satisfying reward meal :)

Usually they’ll let you use an approved weigh in if it’s within 24 hours. So if you weighed in today and met the goal you should be able to use it tomorrow (at least historically). Otherwise you have until midnight on 9/11 although I don’t know what timezone they use.

It's okay! It's still early and we are all learning how we work best in this. Instead of relying on will-power or trying to figure out "best" choices for bad foods, I started packing little snack boxes in my purse to satisfy the urges. Like snacks I REALLY like, just as long as the portions are measured. Like a little bag of chips or little container of chocolate chips. I also pack cucumber sticks or apple slices to eat if I'm feeling anxious or nervous and ready to give in, sometimes just chewing on something and occuping your mind for a few minutes works.

You didn’t make my weight either, but I’m able to jog 2 miles a day, which I could not do when we started. I know the goal is weight loss but for this round, if you do t make the goal focus on one positive thing that was a result of this first round, and start planning early for the next round. You’ve got this.

Today I didn’t have the best eating day. Gonna probably pay for it on the scale tomorrow. It’s been the 1st bad day I’ve had in a long time now (well eating wise...) afraid this will start to spiral into something worse. Help!!

You joined this dietbet for a reason and at least one reason is that you want to make a change. You can do it! I have so many regrets about one "bad" day leading to a bad month or year... "Starting tomorrow" to try to eat perfectly and having tomorrow continue to be delayed. Let's do it this time and now. Hugs.

I agree with the planning. Identify what *might* be triggers for the bad choices and have a response for when you think it's coming on. Like I text my friend and we make a date to go for a walk when I start to feel guilty for not doing the workout I wanted to do. If I'm feeling bummed about not being able to eat a junky food, I research a new fun recipe and write a shopping list so I can try it soon. I also definitely AVOID the scale when I feel the urge to weigh myself! I limit scale time to 2 specific times per week, always the same day, same time.
