  • Poached some chicken and then made chicken salad with celery, onions, pickles, parsley and tarragon. It was delicious, and ibwas very proud if myself.

Today would literally be day 3 of my 30 day yoga challenge and I'm already dying! I'm so out of shape it is not funny. I'm going to sit on my yoga mat and just breathe and call it day 3!

Sounds like a good plan. I signed up for 30 days of yoga but cannot do it everyday. So, I committed to doing all 30 days but with a frequency of once a week or more if I’m up for it. Will aim for twice a week. And then maybe next year I’ll up it again!

I'm doing Yoga With Adriene's 30 day yoga challenge right now (as well?). She always talks about how important showing up is, so I think showing up even to just sit and breath is huge! :). Good job :thumbsup:

I need this so bad. I just had a baby in July and the weight has not come off, in fact I’ve gained extra weight. And I just feel so self-conscious! I am from a small town in Ontario, Canada and I think this will be a great start for me!

Hello all! My name is Kim and I am from MN. I have participated in DietBet’s previously and had some successes and some not as successful. After hitting a hard plateau and loosing all motivation, I gave low carb eating a try and have finally started seeing results again. I decided to join this DietBet to keep up the motivation. Wishing all a very happy, healthy and successful New Year!!!


I'm a junk food junkie and I hate waste, so if it comes in the house someone will be eating it, unless it goes bad. That someone is usually me, or the dog. We're both gaining weight. Me mainly because I'm eating everything, and him mainly because he doesn't have as much free space to run around and explore.

So, I took the plunge to try and do better this year. I even tried out the dreaded meal planning. It's not so bad, but there are still growing pains. I need all the help I can get, so I jumped into this game too. Why not use that stimulus to help motivate me to drop the weight? The math figures out to roughly $5/lb I need to lose, and if I don't lose the weight, I'm paying that per pound to keep it. It'd be like an anti gym membership where instead of paying to use the equipment I'm paying not to use it. Lol I'm hoping by using the dollars for lbs thought process, that I can stay on track and keep the numbers going down. My main motivator this far, though, has been avoiding numbers. At first it was 250 I didn't want to see on the scale, and I haven't since I made that decision. Unfortunately, I only changed the number once, and I'm quickly approaching and threatening to surpass that threshold again. So, I think it's time to set that number in stone and set a new goal weight level.

  • It's time for, The Nutrition Challenge!

    It starts on Monday ends Friday!

    Here are the requirements:

    1- Eat 5 servings a day from the fruit/vegetable group. It can be all vegetables or any combo of both. What is a serving? For the purpose of our game, we will use the American Heart Association definition: Vegetables: 1 cup of raw leafy vegetables (about the size of a small fist), 1/2 cup of other vegetables or 1/2 cup of vegetable juice. Fruits: 1 medium fruit (the size of a baseball); 1/2 cup chopped, cooked or canned fruit; or 1/2 cup juice.

    2-Also, drink at least 64 ounces of water a day. We're focusing on our water intake again as well.

    *If you need any adjustments to these nutrition challenges for specific health reasons, please let me know.

    One suggestion, but not part of the challenge: Please post at least one picture of a healthy meal you eat this week. It provides great ideas for everyone in our game! And remember to make healthy food choices in other food groups, but we are not measuring those for this challenge.

    I will ask at the end of the week, starting on Friday, if you completed the challenge. You will need to report in under that post. You will have until 12 PM PST on Saturday to report in. I will then put all the players who completed this week's challenge into our drawing for a $30 Amazon gift card!
