  • So far for today’s water challenge, I managed to drink 48oz. I admit I am not a fan of drinking tons of water but my family has been motivating me to keep drinking. My daughter suggested using this water bottle as a way to measure my oz without thinking. So the mindset is to refill it with water 3 times for the day. So far it’s been working. The goal is to get to 100oz by the end of today. Wish me luck!

Love how your family is motivating you! I also do the same thing, I have a cup that I use and know that i have to drink 4-5 to get my water intake in. So much easier than counting the oz. themselves. Great idea your daughter had!

Sometimes the weirdest food combos taste the best! I eat banza pasta with Raos pasta sauce and I mix in a can of sardines (oil drained). Might sound gross to others but it tastes good to me! I’ve always liked eating sardines.

  • I need help! One thing I’ve always been terrible at is getting getting the recommended calories for weight 😭 how do you manage to get all those calories in! I feel so full after my meals and I only have time for lunch and dinner and a protein shake in the morning! And I feel like that’s one of the reasons I’m not losing weight.

As a female you should consume 50g of fat a day to preserve brain function. A few days where you are low is fine. But consistently having fat that low is not good.

You may not be doing a Keto diet, but your macros are close. I would skip the protein shake in the morning and focus on eggs with avocado. The fat/protein from the egg will help with your calories, as will the avocado. When eating veggies with chicken for lunch, consider roasting the veggies in coconut oil for some healthy fats. I'm not saying blow your fat consumption out of the water, but increase it at least a bit to get you to the 50g mark.

I'm keto and I follow the high protein, moderate fat and low carb approach. In order to hit my macros (120g protein, no more than 74g fat, less than 20g net carbs), I plan my day out ahead of time. I tweak ingredients to make sure I am consuming my allotted 1145 calories a day. Try planning out tomorrow's meals in your app. When you are too low in calories, add more avocado, or an egg, or another healthy fat. I understand that you are not keto, but you still need 50g of fat a day.

Also, are you weighing out your food? Or eyeballing measurement?

That reminded me I forgot to track my olive oil and avocado oil I used! Thanks! And I also had a few pistachios so after tracking everything I was in the normal range. And it’s Atkins diet so in a couple weeks my carb intake with rise.

I’m having to go tomorrow to get a custom brace for my leg. Since my knee replacement surgery was put on temporary hold due to Covid. I thought as long as I’m out after I get the brace fitted I would make a run to Trader Joe’s. I love Trader Joe’s but it’s not convenient to shop from where I live. Wondering if anybody has things that they love from Trader Joe’s that they would like to share. I know they change what they carry and offer new things quite often.
So I’m wondering what everybody’s favorite things are from Trader Joe’s. I’d like to stock up for the winter months since we don’t know how bad the winter is going to be.

I love their shaved brussel sprouts, cauliflower gnocchi, spicy cashew butter dressing, and chili onion crunch. But you really can’t go wrong!
