Currently have that problem also. I'm up 5 lbs. It usually stays lower if I drink more water than usual but boy is it annoying! I'm hoping itll go back to normal in the next few days.

Weight loss has been incredibly slow this momth. I'm following my work out plan and eating the right things for my body but right now I am completely stalled. I'm like a car spinning its wheels in the snow. Nonetheless I've noticed some pretty cool things over the last two weeks that scream "Hey, this is working don't give up!"
1. I was lotioning my arms and it darned on me that there is definitely less arm to lotion. My arms are shrinking.
2. I was waiting for the printer at work to finish making my copies, so I placed my hand on my back where a lump of fat should be. My hand slid off of my back instead of resting on the lump of fat. The lump is considerably smaller than it used to be! When did that happen?!
3. My very tight pants that I bought a year-ish ago are not tight anymore. In fact I've caught myself pulling them up a few times today. I have a ways to go before they are too big to wear, but they used to leave marks on my skin because they were so tight. Not only do they not do that anymore, they wiggle around enough that I'm noticing.

Im having a rough time. Started this mid december. Hit all goals since. But since the last weight in, scale hasnt budge. Next weight in is coming close and im still far far away.

Ups and downs over the weekend! I closed all my activity rings on my watch and did workout, but I also ate and drank too much during the game. +3lbs of bloat on Monday morning, but it’s already coming off with some healthy choices and lots of water. All about balance!

  • Do you agree with this weight loss tip?  Don’t exercise when you start a diet.  The idea is twofold: 1. Cutting calories can cause fatigue and you may be too tired to workout. Which can also lead to giving up altogether. 2. At the beginning of your weight loss plan, you should focus on your diet because it matters more. Putting all your energy into healthy eating, you set yourself up for quicker results and staying motivated longer.  What do you think?

I agree! I get too overwhelmed trying to tackle both diet and exercise at once. I do light exercise like walking but mostly focus on the diet now because I wasn’t super active before. Later I’ll up my workout intensity so that I don’t hit a plateau.

I completely agree! If you try and do too much at once then you are setting yourself up for failure.

  • Your winnings in this game may be based on the scale, but your mindset doesn’t have to be! 

    The best way to get that scale to move is to focus on healthy behaviors and not the scale. Instead of looking for a number, focus on setting your goals based on measurements, photos, good food choices, or activity.  

    Set goals like “eating 1 cup of veggies at dinner” “walk 20 minutes each day” or “keep a daily food/exercise log.” During times when the scale doesn’t want to budge these successes can help keep you going on this lifelong journey. 

    We've talked about this twice now, but I want to drive home the fact that you have the unique opportunity at this point to be able to track your "starting point" and measure your progress. You will have frustrating times over the next 6-months and small success will get you through.

I think I might try MBF next, but I just completed 10 Rounds with Joel Freeman and loved it! Now I’m doing his 90 day calendar that mixes 10 Rounds and Lift 4. Hoping to get the results I want and stay committed for 90 days. That will be a a record for me.:joy:

This video encapsulates what I hate about the health and fitness industry. Traps and misinformation abound. If you're not a professional athlete or supermodel, chances are you probably shouldn't look like one. And frightening and confusing your body with strange and incomplete dietary choices for a short time is like loading a spring to shoot you back in the opposite direction once you're done.

In my opinion, our bodies simply reflect our lifestyles and what we really need to be doing is encouraging people to participate in lifestyles that are more active instead of making them spend the bulk of their time working so that they have no desire to exert much energy afterwards. When we finally consider that a healthier workforce, both physically and mentally, might actually be a more productive one, maybe things will improve. Anyway, I'll stop ranting........for now :-P
