  • Today I finally reached Onederland! I have not been here since 2016. And I only stayed there for a short time before gaining everything back. This time I’m taking it all the way to my personal goal of 165. I feel very proud of what I’ve accomplished so far. I never want to go back to what I was over 45 lbs ago. Honestly, it has not been very difficult for me by using both DietBet and WayBetter games to keep me engaged everyday and giving me what I call my “daily task list” of heathy things to accomplish everyday. 34.8 lbs to knock off this body! I’m ready to make it happen!!

Re: my win for Round 3....Look, I don’t think I will “win” most popular comment with this statement….but what the hell. DietBet is a bit of a scam and the owners are making an enormous amount of money from us. Imagine almost a million dollars claiming interest in a pot for 6 months…. and then DietBet owners take an enormous percentage for themselves at the end…..
But… the incentive for me is betting on myself to not lose my money which (like most if you), I work so damn hard for). This external control mechanism has helped me keep my focus so for that I am grateful. But… any delusional fantasies I had about making decent money from this over-marketed process has been crushed. Mostly because all of us are doing so well . A strange reality but rather fascinating. I don’t want any of us to fail so I guess that is the cost of not making any profit. At the end of the day, we do win more by losing our weight and becoming healthy. I’m guessing by the time we considered this weird diet-betting process, most of us have tried most anything else. At least that is true for me..so I am (in a qualified way) grateful. I do think the coaches are lovely and I like the way we receive inspiration. Dieting can be a lonely and frustrating "gig" and somehow Dietbet has helped me stay focused. I may be sounding a bit contradictory so my apologies. I have struggled with my weight for almost all of my adult life and I am finally 2 kg shy of my goal weight (which is a loss of about 75lbs or 34kg). Certainly, the incentive not to lose the bets I have made kept me a bit "OCD" for the last 20kg and I am pleased with the results. Just have to keep the weight off. As a final comment, I wonder about a dietbet game that supports "maintenance over say, 6 months to a year"? In other words, we win when we don't gain but this would only make sense for people who have lost the amount in the first instance. I would sign up for that. Your thoughts?

I think scam is harsh language, you lose the weight and you get your money back. Now that I say that I will agree that the way they promote these games is a little disingenuous. They do make it seem like there is more money to be won

Charlene p.

Not a scam. It’s a business and support platform. I think that everyone who joins knows the premise is to do well or risk your money. I like that they will pay out 100% if everyone achieves their goal which I think rarely happens. But I do agree with the maintenance game! I would join for sure. It’s so easy to achieve the goal and then slide back into old unhealthy habits and have the weight creep back on.

Can someone please help me understand this. For those who won this round, we paid $40 and won $36.20. Is that in addition to the $40 we paid this round? Or did we “lose” $3.80 for winning?

You will never "lose" $ for winning. Dietbet guarantees all your money back if you win.

WayBetter Kristin

Everyone explained this well, and it's also shared in the FAQ page for this game https://support.waybetter.com/hc/en-us/articles/24340189536403-2024-Make-the-New-Year-Magic-Transformer-FAQs. The winnings each month are only half of tour monthly bet.

Don’t know how I’m going to navigate a big Easter dinner followed by a weigh-in the next day…. Might be an April 2nd weigh in

Can you do that, weigh in before? I didn't think that would work since you don't have the weigh in word of the day?

I hit a million steps for the year today 😬 The most steps I’ve taken in an entire year was 1,7801,745 and I’m more than half of that in just 3 months. I have been playing other games with WayBetter to keep me going and have been crushing it since I started. I’m proud of myself

That’s literally insane. Keep it up!

That is awesome! What app do you use to keep track of your steps for a year ? Does Apple Health do that for you?

Once upon a time I posted daily here and I found it to be so inspiring, but this game I haven't been participating. It's not new anymore, I've lost these same pounds before and it just isn't thrilling the 3rd of 4th time of the yo yo. It's also not as easy, maybe my metabolism slowed down because I got older, or maybe I lost lean mass and gained back fat making it harder each time. My point is I think I would like to participate more.

HI 👋 I'm Eli. I've been a Vegan for over 5 years. I Have 5 daughters ages 3, 5, 7, 9, and 13. I have high blood pressure, Triglycerides over 500 and I am obese. I want to lose weight for my health. This time around I have been focusing on exercise over diet, but I feel like I am not doing either very well.

Hi Eli! I also stopped engaging so much after the first round, and am jumping back in. I'll keep an eye out for your posts! Small steps every day - remember to celebrate what you are doing well and stay focused on your WHY for motivation to keep improving.

Scott

Ton of respect for you, Eli. Posting like this can make someone feel vulnerable, but it is the opposite. You're facing it all head-on. I have 2 sons, and any time someone asks me why I keep working out or trying to eat healthy, I always say it's because I want to be around when my kids have kids. And it can be a great example for your kids as well.

Keep pushing yourself. Allow a couple pounds lost to help build your confidence for the next couple. Baby steps.

My best advice for exercise is to hit an elliptical then follow it up with the treadmill at a slight incline. Try the elliptical for 15 minutes to start. Next week go to 20 minutes, and so on. Exercise bike in between days can help alleviate any knee or back pain as well.

And my biggest struggle of all, not snacking after dinner Lol.
