Anyone else making their goal but still not satisfied? My end weight I'd around 240 lbs. Let's be real...that's still pretty big (even at 6'1")

I want to do more. Get below 200. Time to work harder. Even if I have to keep going after this entire thing ends, I'm going to get there and hold it there.

Losing weight is a slow game. Don’t be too concerned about current weight, if you are making your goals and maintain the 10% off and then start another transformer you will meet your under 200 in no time. It is quick to put the weight back on, so play the long game, it will benefit you most in the end.

Kelli

Same here! I was so overweight at the start of this game I will definitely need to join another one and will likely do so this month. You just need to keep going until you hit your ultimate goal. Losing weight take’s perseverance and patience- stay in your weight loss mindset.

Quick question: What's the MAX weight we're allowed to lose? I've been doing ok, making goals (barely) but can definitely do better with diet and exercise.

My ending goal is around 240 lbs. Still big for a guy, even 6'1". I want to be smaller though. The contest rules state to not too much weight, unhealthy etc. I want to go super hard now, dial it in, but don't want to get in trouble for losing too much.

12% per round...okay thanks! Don't think I'd come anywhere close to that since for me that's like 30lbs a month lol

Eli M

you need to lose more than enough to win the whole game in a single month

  • Just ran my first mile outside in a while. In the cold too, 27 degree. Used to run all the time, up until 30. After getting hit by a car by a drunk driver (BMW fender is same height as my knees, I found out the hard way), I stopped running. Even walking wasn't fun for a year. Never got back into it like I used to...that's when the weight started piling on.

Posting my abysmal time (Although at 257 lbs, wasn't expecting much), in hopes that by end of the challenge I can post a much better time.

You're doing great!

It's so tempting to compare ourselves today to what we used to do in the distant past, but it's usually not helpful. Consider this run as your new baseline and only compare your current performance to the recent past. The positive thing is that because you have a history of running, you'll improve faster than somebody with no exercise history.

  • Two things that helps me a ton for weight loss:

    1) Meal prepping. If I have it ready, I'm less likely to be lazy and drive down the street and get fast food.

    2) Finding food that you like and is low in calories. If you enjoy it, youre more likely to stick to it. Here iscouple of dinners. Flavored rice and chicken. Simple and easy. Less than 500 calories each. For breakfast, I like oatmeal and blueberries. Lunch, soup and a salad (with a light spray of olive oil, no ranch or other high calorie dressing)

@fittolive I don't have access to anything to heat up my food at work, so a salad works perfect for me. I also tend to do my biggest workout right after dinner...I'll eat and then lift weights and then run. Helps the food settle.

I also like a lighter lunch because it doesn't make me feel as tired during the day.

Monti A.

@Mezzie yeah, I always feel lighter and less lethargic while working with a small lunch.

I cook the chicken lightly seasoned, and go with different flavor rices. That way I get a good mix and it doesn't get boring fast. It'd be harder to cook a variety if chicken flavors imo, but faster and easier to do it with rice.

Found a secret to weighing less. Convert your weight to kg if using pounds. 117 sounds a lot smaller than 258! Ha!

I do it the other way around... I weigh in kg and check how many pounds I've lost... that sounds like a bigger loss.

  • One of my favorite breakfasts now: Baked protein oatmeal. This one is pumpkin pie flavored. (I also like chocolate/peanut butter) No sugar added in recipe, but still tastes great. Macros: 360 calories, 49c, 23p, 8f.

Recipe below if anyone is interested.

Newest morning routine. 6 am, waking the kids up to go to the (home)gym. They're young. 6 and 8. They do sports already but need help progressing. Enter, daily gym. Good for them and good for me, because I'm doing an extra workout with them and doing stuff together as a family.

They didn't want to wake up a little earlier (usually up at 630 anyways) to get an hour in, but I bribed them with $30/month each. They're happy to make money for their banks.

Cheap but great ideas for losing weight. My wife is Russian, and they're huge on soup. Small breakfast, soup for lunch, dinner.

Think about it: Soup IS mostly water. Try to make it at home so you can control the sodium. Do at least a 15 minute walk every morning and evening on top of whatever workout you already do. We always walk after dinner, to help the food digest and settle.

Jane

The biggest help for me is to track my calories on my phone. I know if I'm trying to cheat by not putting something in. I don't want to cheat myself so I'm honest. When I see that I'm getting off track, I can correct right away. It's tough to see that you're eating more than you thought but it really is helpful in identifying where your food triggers are. I suggest getting an app that has the ability to scan food UPCs. That is so helpful with getting the correct calorie and nutrient count. I also always drink water before I eat. It helps me start with a partially full stomach which means I don't overeat.

Well, day 1 was a failure on the exercise end. Huge migraine left me in bed most of the day. On the plus side, I barely eat because couldn't, so didn't over do it on calories, way under goal.

Used to let setbacks like this discourage me. "Great, I can't even do ONE day." But now...going to let it motivate me, work a little harder in the gym today.

Don't sweat the small setbacks, just keep on going!
