  • I’m going through a breakup. And yes, he is a loser, and yes, he didn’t deserve me, and yes, he regrets that decision already but boy bye!

I am eating. Lattes, reduced fat turkey bacon from Starbucks, Sushi, falafel wraps with extra extra hummus and dressing, and a lot of Hippeas. Now since I weighted in just four days ago- I’ve lost 7 pounds. I look weird. I haven’t been exercising aside from dancing around to Beyoncé and “I don’t F with you” by Sean. This is really alarming to me. It scares me because honestly I am really not eating great stuff. Can anyone help me not lose and not bounce back too much?

Definitely check with your doctor but usually when you're in a relationship, you're "comfortable" and not as active and maybe since the breakup you've been dancing to IDFWU a little harder than you think lol. Thank goodness you already know he's a loser and you deserve better so I can save my breath.

I checked with my doctor. He said give it a week. And he told me to cry. Like bawl my eyes out and feel how sad I am. Hair fell out. Now it’s been 5 days and I am putting weight back on. Sometimes your body just is dealing with things different than you. I’ll be back in the game starting Monday so I can finish strong and feel great. Lose my Uber eats bill!

I scrapped by my last game so I’m trying to be more committed to this one. Using my nutrition tracker Wholesome Pro to keep track of my intake and look for patterns for when it goes wrong.

Keto and Intermittent Fasting (IF) are my go-tos.

So we're now officially a couple of days into the game. What do you hope to get out of this?

Weight loss and sharing in the pot is probably a given, but maybe some of you have other goals, or smaller goals to make this goal or a bigger one - I've found it's hard for me to think a month or more ahead - I will 100% wait until the last minute and then remember I can't lose XX pounds in 3 days.** I have good streaks where I'm focused for months on end, but then when I fall off the wagon I struggle hard to get back on.
I have to break it down into weekly or every-few-day goals. "I'll only have 2 sodas over the next 3 days" kind of thing. Or, even better "today I will drink 3 of my 32oz tumblers of water"

So - if you have any goals other than those of this particular game, it would be awesome if you're willing to share them! It can be anything from moving more to eating "better" to learning how to knit instead of stress eat (this is my current tactic, I'll keep you posted). :)

**I am able to play on my personal account, although we have some fairly strict rules regarding getting verified and I can't win any prizes.

I’ve done a first challange a month ago with good results. Would like to lose a bit more but especially keep of the weight I’ve lost which is always my biggest challange. Had a bad start this week, but eager to get on track again.

More movement, more water, less sugar and consistency.

First off I want to say I love dietbet! I feel like you all motivate me so much. I am sad to say I know I will not make this bet. I lost a good friend recently and I went through a difficult time. Due to my depression and being stressed I did not work out and I continued to binge eat. I feel like I’m finally doing better and I will continue to keep losing weight and working hard to achieve my goal. Life gets in the way sometimes and we have setbacks but as long as we push through and come out stronger then that’s all that matters. Thank you everyone for the support along the way!

Tara, I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your friend. :disappointed_relieved: That pain is real. But I'm glad you're holding on to your resolve to continue your weightloss journey once you've given yourself some time to heal. :purple_heart:

You will get back on the horse! Sorry about your friend. Lots of love Beautiful!

  • FINAL WEEK TIPS!! I am SO incredibly proud of everyone!! Thank you all so much for joining me in this game and on my journey; I couldn’t be more grateful and inspired by you all on a daily basis. I hope this game has lived up to your expectations and that you’ll join me again in my next game starting November 9th! A few tips for this last week to get you to your goal:

-Track your food and be honest with yourself about every single thing you’re eating! Try to pay attention to your sodium intake in particular this week as too much sodium can cause water retention. Everything adds up, so it helps to be mindful!
-Plan ahead! If you have any parties or celebrations this week where there will be lots of goodies; plan for it! Ask what kind of food will be served to see if there will be anything you can eat to stay on track. If there won’t be, eat right before you go or bring something with that fits your goals so you won’t be tempted to have too many treats! On the other hand, don’t beat yourself up for indulging if you’d like to because this is a lifestyle.
-Get your water in! Water is super important for weight loss. Drinking 6-8+ glasses a day will also help with getting rid of any water retention you may be struggling with from any weekend indulgences.
-Get yourself moving more! Make a conscious effort to get up and move your body every hour. Every little bit helps! Tip: If you have a desk job like I do, set an alarm/reminder on your phone to go walk around the building or floor once an hour.

Remember that you should be proud of yourself whether you make your goal or not. Even though this is a weight loss challenge, at the end of the day we are all more than a number on a scale. You did something that may have been out of your comfort zone to better your health, and that is something worth celebrating!!

You guys. Totally binged today. Total. And binge eating is my problem. It’s why I flux all the time. I ate so much Saturday and a pretty heavy dinner last night then today I just devoured everything. Everything. I’m concerned I won’t win the bet now. Anyone have pointers for getting on track for tomorrow?

IF helped a ton with my binging. Also tracking and not keeping "trigger" foods in the house. You may want to try OMAD. When I feel the need to binge, I do OMAD. You eat for one hour and don't for 23 hours. And once you get used to IF you get a smaller stomach and a binge becomes a full plate not several plates.

Sarah H.

Trying to throw something in that hasn’t been mentioned. Research shows always eating at the dinner table compared to at computer or in front of tv results in less bingeing because it brings about mindfulness. Keep all leftovers in the kitchen so you have to consciously choose to get up and get more if you decide that’s what you want. If it’s a snack, plate up how much your wanting or worked out your happy to consume and put the rest away. Again this means you have to decide consciously to get up and get more. Hide tempting foods out of sight, sometimes seeing the foods can trigger your brain to eat them. Research also showed that if we try to save our yummy foods for a special treat, it makes us crave more of the special food and less of the veggies or whatever we’ve told ourselves we have to eat first. Sometimes I literally plan to eat chocolate brownie with some strawberries and coconut yoghurt for dinner and that’s all I have. I second a lot of the other comments here too, just wanted to give you something different. We need to set ourselves up for success, I always find looking at the psychology of food interesting. Good luck

  • I usually aim for 15,000 steps. Today I did bootcamp and it’s raining so you’ll see that reflected in the lack of step count from my phone. Tomorrow and Wednesday it is raining as well but I am trying to get running partners to help push me so I run anyway which will get me to hit that 15,000!

Same here with the rain. Tomorrow is not suppose to be as bad as Wed. so I'm going to hope to find one little dry moment and walk. Good job with what you did do!!
