So it automaticlally is taking a weight from another game that I was in last month. I did not want it to use that weight. What do I do. I thought we had to ask them to reuse a weight.

Did you cook a whole butternut squash or do you get it preprepared somehow?

It was yummy. I actually just seeded it & cut it into chunks. For this single serving oatmeal I microwaved a chunk raw for 2-3 minutes. Usually I roast it all (seeded) in the oven for soups, curries and pies but this worked great!

Ok, so I don't understand how this works... I signed up on the last day and am still trying to figure it out...if I get to the 'goal' weight I get my money back, plus whatever is left in the pot from other who didn't make the goal weight? Is that right?

Ooookay so say I only hit the first goal... I still get $17.50 at the end of the bet?

You get winnings at the end of each month. You get the return on your $17.50 (1/2 what you put in) based on the number of people who won their monthly goal. The other half goes to the pot at the end, and if you win you get a minimum of your $17.50 x 6 back, plus winnings.

Here I am a creature of reality! I am excited to lose weight but still find that my mental status gets in the way!
I am 100% on board and fully devoted to my weight loss journey of a lifetime. My willpower is stronger than I am naturally inside. This transformation is healthy and good for me.
However, I find myself super lonely and sad inside. Food was my go to when I felt this way. I am surrounded by people and have a bubbly personality. I don’t shine my deep rooted sadness, loneliness.
This journey is exceptionally hard for me because on the outside I am looking better and feeling better but on the inside I am so lost.

How do you manage?
My old behavior was to turn to carbs to make me feel better. When in reality I was killing myself.
Now, more than ever it’s harder to make new friends at 46. I feel list, empty and alone. It’s not about looking in the mirror anymore and seeing my progress. I am proud I stick to my journey of weight loss and a healthier me.
Inside I am crushed. The more effort I put towards a better me the more people around me have comments.
I’m the same person. I just took action to be a healthier me. It may scare some people but I’m reality.... it’s making me more sad and lonely.
Therapy isn’t the answer. I tried that. Finding a local group or local friends seems to be impossible. I feel that is what I need in my life to repair my loneliness. I just have NO Clue how to do that now.
I am a happy, bubbly person on the outside. Most people don’t know how much they hurt me on the inside.
Ideas on how to find groups or friends in a local area?
Walking group? Hang out group? Fitness group? Activity group? Idk...
any ideas welcome!

I highly recommend short form meditation to help with sorting out what you *think* you need. Like others mentioned we have these automatic thoughts of what we need in times of struggle-"I need to be with people/food/certain activities and I will then be happy". I thought for a long time I needed a better job or a more interesting hobby, or I needed to be more informed/smarter and I would just be happier. For a few minutes or even an hour a day I devote mindfulness to clearing my mind of all need thoughts. I found that working through the weeds of "I-need-XYZ but don't know how to get it" actually helps you see you have a lot of what you need already in front of you. Besides the cauliflower rice, it also has some onion, some garlic, some banana peppers, and some fresh spinach. All those add flavor but little calories.

Really! Because I did a 4-week one last week and they told us our winnings by 10 AM the next day after weigh-ins ended.

I've tried for 10 years to get this weight off... Not counting calories, just using whole plant-based diet. Hasn't worked. I started counting calories 6 weeks ago and the weights coming off. So sometimes old-fashioned works. I try to keep below 1500 a normal days and then I do two fast days where I try to keep it below 700 calories. And so I won't be hungry I always look for things that are a lot of bulk for a small number of calories. And I try to fool my body by making sure I drink a lot of water and the things I eat are heavy. That way my body thinks it's full all the time, and I don't have the urge to go snacking. Like okra weighs a lot, eggplant weighs a lot, oranges, you get the point. And there's nothing better than a piece of squash sliced in half dry roasted in the oven. It's less than 50 calories and it's a lot for a snack.

Yeah, wfpb can pack the lbs on if you aren’t careful. I avoid the high calorie foods now, eating mostly veggies but pasta daily it seems. I’m losing about 10lbs a month so I’ll take it. :)
