Happy early Thanksgiving to the Americans in the group. Any planning for tomorrow? Are you going to make any changes to however you "normally" do your Thanksgiving meal - game related or covid related, for that matter.
We are just having a sort of normal regular day, except my husband will be home so we can have some family time. I have no intention of cooking (nor did I order-precooked) a turkey for 2 adults and 2 picky kids, so ... I still haven't decided what we'll eat.

For all players - what are you thankful for today? Try and think of something specific, big or small. (Being thankful for "family" or "success" is awesome and valid, but I'm hoping we can all take a minute and think of something in particular!)

I'm thankful that I remembered to set up my coffee maker last night. The gratitude I felt for myself when I walked in the kitchen all bleary-eyed and realized there was hot coffee waiting for me was so very satisfying! I'm also thankful my kids have made it the two hours they've been up without any fighting or bickering or general loudness, and I'm thankful my husband has tomorrow to sleep in and not have any expectations of returning client phone calls or doing work for the following week.

I'm thankful to be here and have the blessing of my fiance and daughters presence. I plan on doing a full Thanksgiving with several desserts all gluten free as I am. I will be doing portion control and sending most of the sweets with my mom to her work as they put in overtime at the ER. (We live together so same bubble thankful for that too right now!)

    What are some healthy substitutes you add to your meals? Do you use zucchini noodles instead of regular pasta, or ground up cauliflower for your pizza crust instead of regular dough?

I did weight lifting in my home gym for an hour. Honestly the biggest motivation for me is my wife and kids. I want to be around and active with them for a long time.

Okay, here's one of my biggest challenges..I do really well during the week but weekends are a struggle if the kids want to eat out, my husband offers a drink after a really hard week or one of the kids makes brownies...etc .. one discretion i say.... then something else and I say I'll do extra exercise.... but too many and I gain .5lbs or more during the weekend. Then I'll spend the week losing what i gained but if I was stronger I could be ahead in the"losing battle" .... they say get the temptations out of the house.... but with 5 kids that are trim and fit and a husband that isn't ready to shape up they shouldn't have to do without some sweets because I can't say no. I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings when they think of me to bring home a favorite. Any and all prayers and suggestions welcome!!

It helps me to think in moderation. I allow myself a little so I don't forever crave the sweets I love and then binge on them later. Moderation has really helped me keep my eating under control and tweak my diet when I need to.

I have a similar problem. My husband is all about the weekend and he equates this with cheat food and drinks. He is a marathon runner... so it’s fine for him. But it does a number on me. The thing that helps me remember (when I listen to my inner voice) is that when this dinner ends or this day or event... I’m going to be more happy about making better choices every time.

    Do you already have a habit of drinking plenty of water every day, or is it a struggle for you to get it in? Just like anything else, the more you do something, the easier it becomes to then incorporate it into your everyday life. This process is about building good habits, that not only lasts us through the game but through the rest of our lives. How did everyone's first day go? What's your plan for day 2?
