  • NSV- I came home to these on the counter. I kept making excuses why I should eat one, my mom even suggested cutting it in half and I even thought about taking a bite of my son’s when he was eating his but I didn’t.

    I hope tomorrow I’ll have the same will power.

I had a little uptick- ok, a big one... the beginning of April. So I used an Easter challenge to come down that 4% I went up. I’m still in the runnings, though I forfeited the last two rounds. Mantra is to finish strong!!

  • Real talk ..seriously struggling over here and I just hope that this stubborn body finally lets go of all this fat and inflammation so I can start losing and feeling good ... doing everything right and still

    Goals for May:
    1. TRS Heavy Metal Detox Protocol
    2. Daily walk of min of 15-30 min
    3. Daily workout /stretching
    4. Daily water intake of min 150 oz
    5. Daily accountability check in (no more going awol)
    6. Sit for 10 min a day in complete silence (meditate)
    7. Daily tbsp of healthy oils
    8. Remind myself of my WHYS ... these two are my biggest but then the rest of the Fam is super important to me.
    HERE IS TO A SUCCESSFUL MONTH FOR ALL OF US!!!

Yep I’m gonna do this I am a planner and I’m great at setting goals and they start out great and then some out on the way things kind of fizzled out when you get frustrated that you’re not seeing the results you want. It’s a reminder to me and a reminder to all those that are struggling as well that it’s not always going to be perfect I look perfect I feel perfect but if you just stay with it eventually something that’s going to happen and I believe that and I see it and I visualize it and I know it’s there. Thanks for your support I appreciate it so much!! :pray::heart:

Has anyone ever experienced shin splints before? I've been doing a lot of intense workouts and think I might have them. Any suggestions how to push through without hurting myself?

Compression socks/sleeves can help. Also ice and ibuprofen. You probably need to take a break from whatever was causing them for a bit and do something different.

If you are getting them from running, it might be your form. Heel strikers have a greater chance if getting them. You can train yourself out if being a heel striker by shortening your stride, landing with your foot below you and not out in front, and increasing your stride tempo (a running metronome can help). All of these will reduce the chance of injury, shin splints or many other injuries. There are lots of YouTube videos that can provide guidance. I like The Run Experience crew.

I actually gained weight this month 😖😣😫

I’m not going to beat myself up about it, though. I applied to grad school for an MSW, which took considerable effort. I put other responsibilities aside in the process and had to make up for them over the month. I got accepted into the program, so I guess it was worth it!

I’m also dealing with an injury, which keeps me from running. I started gardening and it’s been bugging me more lately. I am excited to get my garden going, though!

Didn't even come close this round and actually went up, damn income tax season. Hard to eat well and work 80 hours a week. Now I will have time for me again. Just makes my aim higher for this month. On to the next one.
