I've been discouraged the past several days. I feel like I've been staying on track with my nutrition and exercise. However my scale apparently disagrees. Or at least I have a BIG sticking point to break through. Anyway, I feel better and that is probably a better indication. I just hope I break through in time to complete this challenge.

Same - I’ve started strength training again, so I know I’m holding a lot more water weight with muscle recovery, etc., but it’s always somehow discouraging lol. Drink lots of water and stick with it! You’ve got this!

I've made a little progress,, but been trying to read up on water weight. It seems like my recent boost in exercise has me retaining more water. I'm wondering if I should stop exercising before weigh-in so my body returns to normal.

  • This week so far has been pretty good from a nutrition standpoint! It helps that we have loads of zucchini and fresh herbs in the garden to work with. Found out my iron is pretty low, so I’ve started juicing this week for added nutrients, which is making this week’s fruit and veg challenge extra timely! Post-lunch juice of carrots, oranges, yellow and orange bell peppers, and loads of ginger.

  • When it comes to sweets and treats, do you cut back or cut out when you are actively trying to lose weight? For me its easier not to take the first bite. However some people are able to satisfy their sweet tooth with small amounts of treats, like a square of dark chocolate. Which side do you fall on. In the long run a healthy lifestyle is easier to maintain if you practice moderation instead of deprivation. So what is your strategy?

I crave dairy more than sugar, so cutting sweet stuff when I’m dialing in nutrition is super easy compared to cutting out cheese!

I try to walk every day, but recently adding in strength training 2-3 times per week. It is the secret to shaping your body. Doesn't even have to be a ton--just a set or two per muscle group.

I just fill my huge 32oz hydro flask twice touring the day and pour glades out of that when I’ve done two I can choose to be done!

I’m aiming for a minimum of 64oz, but I’d like to be hitting 80oz consistently by the end of this! I use a 24oz glass and try to manage at least one before lunch then another before end of work.

  • Welcome everyone, I'm so happy you're here! My name is Jenn, I'll be your host! Kandice is my sister and co-host.

    I like to do weekly challenges as part of our game, it helps to keep the game more interactive and motivating. (Optional of course)

    The first challenge is: The Water Challenge!

    Here is the challenge if you want to participate:
    Drink at least 64 oz. of water a day, Tuesday - Friday! (August 3rd - August 6th)

    Starting on Friday there will be a post, at the top of the game feed, for you to comment under if you completed the challenge. The deadline to report in is Saturday 12:00 PM (noon) Pacific Time. The prize drawing will be held on Saturday shortly after that, for the $10 cash prize. Each week the prize amount goes up!

    And one suggestion, but not part of the challenge: Please introduce yourself and share your goals! Let us know where you are on your weight loss/fitness journey, and what your short/long term goals are! Just for fun let us know where you are from. I live in Utah.
