Y'all - it's been a rough month with my mother-in-law in hospice and a close family friend taking her own life last week. I also found out that I'm severely anemic, so this was a true wake-up call for me to do better. I recently started some personal training a few times per week and am focusing more on protein (and taking an iron supplement). I feel pretty empowered right now that I made my round 2 goal in spite of all the chaos in our lives, and it has reminded me that I do not have to let the chaos control me. So thankful for DietBet - it gives me some accountability and motivates me to persevere.

I’m down 16 lbs since this challenge started. That blows my mind! Still have another 1.2 lbs to go to make month 2, but I’m feeling like it’s possible. How’s everyone else doing overall?

1 pound away from this months goal!!! Weekends are my weakest days, but I’m determined!!! We got this, good luck :thumbsup:

I’ve got .2 left to go! I’m just making big caloric deficits while still eating good protein and nutrients to make those last few lbs.

@manisha r
I really like Noom. I feel like, for the most part, the information is not ground breaking, but it’s super helpful and has helped me reframe so many thoughts.

Wow lost 6 more pounds than I "had" to for this round. Now just got to keep the momentum going.

Received my email that I’m an official winner of Round 1 and already 58% of the way to my Round 2 goal. I would say that’s a nice way to kick things off. 😁

Anyone else think this first round just flew by? I can not believe we are only a week away from weigh in already.

OK so this is advice on what my experience has been. They do say that weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise. Also you cannot out exercise a bad diet. My two demons are Sugar and Sodium. When I consume processed foods that have higher levels of both I see my weight go up. When I lower those intakes down my weight goes down. Sodium will cause you to retain fluids and sugar causes inflammation at least in me. Now that I am older (55) I notice that when I eat those in greater amounts at night time my calves are like inflated balloons or at least feel like it. This past week I seen my weight go as high as 229lbs and back down to 224.5lbs just by lowering my intake of Sugar and Sodium. So dont beat yourself up over a couple of pounds and look more ate what you are eating. Does not mean stop exercising. LOL Just some of my thoughts and advice.

  • Omg. The best. Fit Men Cooks Sweet Potato and Chickpea Abundance Bowl. Lots of protein, super healthy. Added some jalapeno to the dressing and it had the perfect heat. Ate it for lunch and filled me up all day without feeling gut heavy.
    ETA, to save time, I seasoned and then air-fried the potatoes and chickpeas together, and sauteed the kale, onion, and fresh garlic before tossing and adding dressing.
