I spent the weekend out of town, with lots of eating out and gatherings that usually involve junk food. I told people about my goals, and I made healthier choices, ordering meats and vegetables, no French fries, no dessert

I have lost the shame and have learned that I can get right back on track with the next bite. Reflecting on what I can I could’ve done differently has helped. Like i should’ve had the celery with an accessory vs those crackers!

  • What an amazing first week! I am loving all the comments and support! Here is a little insight for your to take into the weekend. Remember that your palate is fully capable of changing according to the foods you choose to eat. Your cravings will noticeably subside, and foods you used to enjoy will soon lose their luster. Nothing is better than how the right foods make you feel - that feeling lasts and tells your brain to crave those foods instead. Veggies are by far the most satisfying thing for me to eat! I literally feel more alive during and long after!

I know many of you have had a long weekend- Don't worry I got you!

This is a seriously effective one. I realize more and more that when someone feels accomplished in other facets of his or her life, she has a much easier time staying disciplined.

Option 1- Work out: I have seen dozens of people lose tons of weight without exercise but there’s something about the sense of physical accomplishment and strength following a workout that propels a greater sense of self care throughout the day.

If you dread exercise and it and it makes you eat more and not lose weight, go to option 2.

B. Option 2- Find another outlet that makes you feel accomplished and takes time to yourself. It can be decluttering and organizing or taking a class in a hobby of yours.

Whatever it is, Commit to a goal of not treating your body like a trash can. If you keep that mantra in mind (“I won’t treat my body like a trash can,”) it can give you an amazing sense of physical empowerment. This is powerful this week as you turn down food pushers and stay focused on your goals. Plan ahead and make it happen. You can do it!

    I first want to extend a warm welcome to all our new and returning members! Hope you enjoy this Memorial Day as we remember our fallen hero’s . I am so excited to have you here with us this challenge! Throughout the game I will be hosting fun (free, you do not have to pay the $5 membership fee to participate) weekly challenges where you will have an opportunity to win some awesome prizes!

    This week 6/1-6/6 I challenge you to incorporate (and track) at least 45 minutes of exercise every day this week Tue.-Sun.!

    Submit your tracking results by the end of the day on 6/6 to a check-in thread that I will post the morning of 6/6 to the group (It will be pinned at the top of the posts titled week 1 check-in). Then one winner will be chosen at random to win my favorite high-density round foam roller. Perfect to use for a variety of strengthening, flexibility, and balancing exercises! The winner will be announced on Mon. 6/7!

    Remember 45 minutes of activity could be a walking the dog, a virtual yoga class, vacuuming the house, anything that gets you moving! You’ve got this!!! Let’s start this game off by focusing on getting our bodies moving this week.

Hi everyone! I’m late to the game but it’s my fist dietbet and I’m excited to jump in. I was apprehensive about joining but after listing to a couple of Ilana’s podcast today I am motivated more than ever!! As she says., No change is no change... so time to get out of my comfort zone (which isn’t really very comfortable) I am ready to be more confident and get into weight loss mode. This mental shift I am discovering in myself is what I think has always been the missing piece. Can’t wait to see my progress in the next 23days!!
