Happy Saturday all!

Anyone have good plans?!?!

We're visiting some friends this weekend, one of my childhood besties just had their second baby so I get to meet him - newborn snuggles...gahhhh love em.

Weekends can either be the easiest or hardest part of your week when you've got goals - when i was working a 9-5 m-f job, weekends were my best days because work made it hard for me to stay on track - there was always SOMETHING around, food is the love language of so many people.

I'm all about small victories - whats something small you can commit to this weekend that will help you feel proud on monday even if you did nothing else? Nothing major - just something small. 10 minute walk? Go no coffee/alcohol on sunday?

The feeling of pride at getting that small thing accomplished will set you up for a good week come Monday - so, pick something you know you'll do!

We attended my daughter peers birthday party Saturday. We picked up dairy free pizza and cupcakes for her and I to eat at the party. We split what is considered an individual pizza. A lot of walking around watching the kiddos play. Sunday we took a walk/hike with the kids in what is called the land locked forest here in our town. Was out walking for 1.5 hours before it got too hot. Then some yard work.

We had a good by event at work yesterday and I ate a bit more than I should and oh boy can I feel it. Plan to get back on track with my health choices and portion sizes. Thankfully we don’t have any crazy holiday plans, just mulching the vegetable garden.

  • Can’t wait to get started in here! Did DietBet back in 2015/2016 to get me in the best shape of my life. But then 2019 brought baby #4, we all know how 2020 went, and 2021 started with me having pregnancy complications with baby #5. Baby is now almost 4 months old, and I weigh more now then I did at any point in my first 4 pregnancies. Ready and eager to change that! Skinny me is from 2017, after 3 kids. The other is from this past Mother’s Day. Hoping to get closer to the 2017 version!

    What brought you here?

    Me, Im here because in 2016, DietBet helped change my life and a few years later, I joined the amazing team here because I knew I found something special and wanted to be a part of it.

    Losing weight is HARD. For LOTS of reasons. I was a yo-yo dieter for almost my whole life. Up and down and up and down and up higher than i ever was and down...Why? Well, the downs were because i knew i needed to do something different, so i lost weight. The ups were because i didn’t have anything keeping me to my “new way” of doing things. i went right back to my habits...and the weight came back.

    Dietbet is what changed that. It MADE me stick to my goals. I didn’t wanna risk losing my buy-in for a cheat meal or a weekend off or a week...so i stuck to my diet. And i got results.

    If I can do it, you sure as hell can ❤

I'm hoping Dietbet will help me break thru the persistent thinking-habits of "oh well, I'll have this now and lose later" + "oh well society may be breaking down and almond-filled pastries might not be available anymore and anyway then I'm going to NEED this fat". Lol. Age 64 and it is Not Easy to lose. I've been trying for 2 years - lost some but then gained most back. Need buddies & extra motivation. Hope to find here.

Sunday - zoodles and air fried Brussels
Monday - stir fry veggies and air fried cauliflower
Tuesday -zoodles
Wednesday - spinach in my smoothie and zoodles (notice a trend?!? Lol!)
Thursday - lettuce wraps.
Friday -zoodles
Saturday - big breakfast - potatoes, onions, bell peppers, mushrooms.

I’m really trying hard to not eat carbs with dinner. I’ve been doing couscous instead of just pasta. At least it’s some protein. But my veggies are definitely getting better!!

BREAKFAST (every day): Made a breakfast hash every morning with sweet potatoes, onions, peppers, and mushrooms.

Lunches: All lunches are leftovers from the night before.

Dinners:
Monday - Whole30 Jalapeno Popper Casserole (veggies: spaghetti squash, jalapenos, onion)

Tuesday - Fajita Salad (veggies: onions, bell peppers, jicama, romaine lettuce, banana peppers, tomatoes)

Wednesday - Spaghetti Sauce with hamburger served over green beans (veggies: green beans, onions, garlic, tomatoes)

Thursday - BBQ Chicken, potato salad, fruit salad (veggies: potatoes, celery, onions, garlic)

Friday - InstantLoss Hamburger mac and green beans (veggies: carrot, onion, green beans)

Saturday - Buffalo chicken salad (veggies: romaine lettuce, red onion, tomatoes, celery, carrots, banana peppers)

Sunday - Roasted pork chops and potatoes, steamed broccoli, and a side of fresh fruit (veggies: potatoes, broccoli)

Monday - Zuppa Toscana Soup (veggies: onions, potatoes, garlic, kale)
