Diet idea... and asking for any knowledgeable advise, or opinions are great too. Lol.

So I’ve always done my diets base off calories on no this or low that. I’ve had an idea cross my mind lately of doing a more quality diet (as I would call it).

Of instead of counting calories keep more of an eye of my vitamin and mineral intake... I guess in a way do some research and digging on which foods have the most nutritious values and go with those instead of trying to reach a calorie count. But I fear that because of this the calorie intake could be SUPER low... would that be ok as long as I get the daily nutrients?

I agree. For me, meal logging helps me to get a true-er idea of how often I’m snacking. Other than that, focusing on nutrition as opposed to restriction is good for me. If you’re interested in increasing raw vegan meals in your week, Lissa’s Raw Food Romance is a great approach. She can be found on Instagram, etc.

I recently discovered Marty Kendall and Nutrient Optimisation. He has YouTube videos and a website and meeting nutrient goal is a focus that helps with satiety and therefore weight loss.

    Easy grab and go fruit, salad toppings, shredded beef and chicken, 18 hard boiled eggs, roasted tomatoes, sliced lemons, thick slice bread for toast or fold over pimento sandwiches, 4 different varieties of cheese for snacking, sliced strawberries and grapes (not featured), rice and gravy with onions and potatoes made in the cooking liquid I slow cooked my shredded beef in. All prepped all on standby ready to be eaten! Very little cook time the rest of the week and so many options you don’t feel the limits that typically come with food prepping. Having it all set up like this also really helps with my portion control!

Feeling pretty good. I broke my diet for my birthday. No dairy, processed carbs, alcohol or sugar allowed. I fasted all day until dinner which was pizza, margarita, and chocolate mousse. To my surprise when I jumped on scale it said I went down a pound. I have hit my 2nd round goal!

  • I'm getting rather nervous that I might not make goal. I have a full 9 days of vacation 11 days to make goal. I know I am halfway there but this weight isn't shredding as fast as it once was.
    Here is my game plan:
    Each morning when I wake up and everyone is still asleep I will go for a walk (hoping I can find a way around the lake)
    I will only drink alcohol 1 day and "pretend " the rest of the days with flavored club soda.
    If I want to indulge in treats I will make sure that I do not binge on them and have a proper serving size. IF I still feel like binging I'll get in the lake or paint my nails.
    And lastly I'm going to continue to skip breakfast. (Eating when I am hungry).

    Hope that will do the trick!

  • I'm going out for dinner tonight for my BFFs birthday. I know it will be a high-cal meal so I just tracked everything before I have anything to eat today. Now I know what I've got to work with! I'll be walking all day ahead of time too! Hooray for my under desk treadmill!!

Ugh I'm so mad at myself for gaining back all the weight that I lost from my last DietBet but I've never done a transformer before, only a kickstarter, so I'm hoping this will work better for me. :)

I just finished a Transformer this past weekend. The one thing I realized in that six month journey is you’re not just focusing on weight loss you’re also focusing on a healthier lifestyle and how important self-care is. Also making yourself a priority which I think for most of us is a difficult thing to do. Good luck on the challenge.


Yeah, I stopped doing the Kickstarters. I realized the Transformers are setting you up more long term success. A lifestyle change, like PD said :)

  • I just weighed in (still waiting for verification)…. I’m up ~5lbs from my Friday weigh out for the January Transformer 😬 I enjoyed my holiday festivities, so no regrets lol. Just hoping it’ll come off as quickly as it went on!

    Progress from beginning of January Transformer to now! Hopefully this bet will motivate me to keep going!!
