I’m with you! I’ve been stuck at 46% for about a week now. I feel like the biggest change I could make is to drink more water. I’m terrible about getting my water in.

My “smart” scale is being stupid this morning. I got on the scale after a nice big 💩 lol and I was excited to see 143.2!! But I forgot to have the weigh in word ready and all that jazz to record the weight officially so I ran to get some paper and write it down and got on the scale again to take the picture and the scale read 145.8. Whaaaaaat?!? I thought nah this can’t be possible. Maybe the batteries are dying. So, I switch them out. I step on the scale again…and this time it reads…146.0…NOPE!! How is it possible that in 15 min I gained 2.8 lbs?? Now I can’t even figure out which reading is the right one and I can’t record the low weight as my official progress weight as the first one 😂😂😂.

I need to improve my nutrition. I’ve been spot on with workouts and I’m in the last week of 4 Weeks 4 Every Body but I didn’t do the Gut Protocol along with it. I’m going to do a second round of it and I MIGHT do the Gut Protocol but I’m a bit scared because I’m already a VERY picky veggie eater and the restrictions of the protocol make me nervous that I might fail hardcore.

Anyway. Not feeling awesome about food choices lately or my weight today since it’s only 1 lb down from my original weigh in, if the last weight of 146 is to be believed.

Le sigh. I am, as always, my own worst enemy. I’ll continue to work on that as I continue my journey 💗

I have a 12lb dumbbell I often put on my scale to see how the calibration is holding up…it usually says 11.9. The other day it said 12.3
I feel like a .4ounce margin of error is something I can work with lol…what you’re describing sounds like something is off. Grab a dumbbell :)


I don’t weigh myself with my phone in my hand…do people do that? I always make sure I am in my birthday suit…I don’t even have my wedding rings on because I don’t want to add any additional anything on me I just want it to be me and that’s it on the scale lol I don’t need anything else adding to it :joy: watch comes off, clothes come off, ring comes off, glasses come off, so I have to get right off the scale and bend down real quick to read the numbers before they go away since I’m blind as a bat without my contacts in or my glasses on

Advice needed! Going to a party tonight and the host/guest are big alcohol pushers. I do like to have a few drinks but I want to refrain tonight. How would you all respond when people are asking “why aren’t you drinking” and keep pushing it. I will have my water bottle with me at all times. Thanks for any advice.

I always stick with a wine glass or cocktail glass with sparkling water and fresh lime or lemon or fresh fruit. It appears as a drink and people don’t really question it.

Here in New Zealand we have dry July where people will abstain from Alcohol for the month as a way of raising money for charity or just for their health. You could say you are supporting a distant relative in New Zealand :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Don't chop too much ahead. Sometimes the pieces get slimy when in the water. I would only do enough for 2 or 3 days/meals.

I'm working off of 5.5 hours of sleep but here's my veggie plan for the day {as inspired by Ilana's awesome and inspiring call}

*add broccoli to my scrambled egg breakfast
*make a bok choy stir fry for lunch before heading to a BBQ later
*Bring a cooler of water, cucumbers, and carrots to the BBQ
*Dinner should most likely be covered by the BBQ... not sure yet... it's a pig roast so maybe there's cole slaw there?

The planning monster isn't getting me today! Lol

My plan for this weekend: 2 purchased salads, batch prepped spaghetti squash and ground turkey/pasta sauce (no cheese), apples & cucumber for snacks, plus other salads, scrambled eggs. Going to bed at regular time. Rest/nap as needed. Stop eating/drinking at least 1 hour before bed.

I agree with Trish! This is one of the best replays! I love all the nutritional education. Understanding the how and why of veggies and fiber and supplements is so equipping!! And thank you, Ilana for your transparency...always.

Thank you Ilana. I'm going to set a goal to add more fiber filled carbs into my day because I have been avoiding them all together (in non veggie form). I think like you said, it will give me more energy and better bathroom visits.

Also, for the nighttime routine I totally agree with you on screen time. My husband and I always fall asleep to the tv playing but it's always friends or frasier, things that we've seen before and can mindlessly fall asleep to. And great goal to read 2 pages of your book before falling asleep. I've been needing to do more of my bible reading and this will be a perfect opportunity to reach both goals. Thanks again!!

Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend so far! Weekends are usually a time where you come across different kinds of foods that may tempt you...Remember, one tip is to keep your hands, mouth and eyes busy and distracted. If you are at a social event with lots of foods and temptations, place yourself far from the food table. “In sight, in stomach”, so physically change what you see.

This trick really works and has been proven in studies. If you can’t move away, look up. Want to keep your hands and mouth busy? Grab water, coffee, tea and zero calorie beverages and drink away. If you can, find veggies. Can’t drink or eat? Bring chewing gum with you and suck on it discreetly.

Do these tricks work for you? What other things do you do to stay strong in the face of food temptations?

Curious how everyone tracks what they eat daily given your busy schedules with work, kids, etc. I have every intention to do it each morning, and it just slips by by the end of the day, and I’m too exhausted to input everything in at that point. I’ve been successful with this in the past, but having a toddler and working full time adds an entirely new challenge. I would appreciate some fresh ideas on this aspect of my weight loss journey!

I’ve also heard of people just taking a picture of what they eat or you could put it in the note section of your phone and just do a voice message of what you eat
