Does anyone use either Noom or the Weight Watchers app? Nutrition is definitely where I struggle and I'm looking for a little extra help with it. I'd love to hear if anyone has any experience with these or suggestions for other apps.

It really depends on what your struggle is with nutrition. If you don't have a good sense of calories and what to eat, then something like My Fitness Pal can help. If you don't want to track calories then WW or Noom could be good options. If you're looking for social interaction and support, then WW. If you want to dig into the psychology of eating, then Noom. As others mentioned, I don't think the Noom coaches are any good but the material is useful.

One if the best sources of information for me has been the Half Size Me podcast. That woman is a brilliant coach and much of what she talks about can be transferred to all aspects of life (e.g. her messages around setting boundaries).

I am doing WW. Tracking makes me think, and make decisions. Sure you can count calories, but that is kind of complicated to me. You start to memorize and internalize point values, and then it gets very easy. 17lbs down in a few months. 190lbs. It works for me.

I previously lost 50 lbs on Keto in a year and then got tired of it, got frustrated and gained it all back in a year. I need to try again but my discipline is crap cause I really don’t want to do Keto. But I feel like it is the only thing that works for me. I am wheat intolerant so if I eat wheat I am congested and gassy. Congested and runny nose, so is it the wheat or is it COVID or is or the wheat??? I always tested negative but it’s stressful to deal with these symptoms all the time. So I really need to kick the wheat…

Any suggestions on another eating plan I could follow that won’t make me want to snack and I can easily avoid wheat?

You lost weight on keto because you were in a calorie deficit. If you can burn more calories than you eat while enjoying some carbs you may find it more sustainable.


For 15 years I was sure that the only way my body would lose weight was by reducing carbs. I had great successes, I lost over a hundred pounds, and I gained it back, lost it again, vicious cycle. It’s exceptionally unsustainable and amplifies many unhealthy relationships with food. I read a book called renaissance diet 2.0, which is basically the science of macros and calories in calories out. Eye opening. Lost that 100 pounds again this time it’s staying lost.

Any pop/soda addicts in our group? Or anything you’ve given up since starting the bet?

Today is day 14 for me with no pop! I decided on January 3rd that I was given it up. Not going to lie…the first few days were really rough but I survived. Last night we had pizza and I was struggling. Really, really had to fight the urge to “just have one”. But I did it. My goal is to go 30 days without then maybe only for special occasions or maybe not at all. To be continued….

I love using the mio liquid water flavoring! Actually my favorite rn is great value strawberry watermelon, it's clear so no red dye. A bunch of brands have them too, like kool aid, crystal light, etc. You can try them in sparkling water if you feel like you need the carbonation

Also cutting out any added sugars - mostly sweets, since I am a major sweet tooth - chocolates, candy, sweet pastry. 2 weeks going strong :blush:

I think I was like the 35th place to join the 2022 transformer! :sweat_smile: a little scary because usually have some wiggle after weigh-in because I don’t eat the best right before a challenge knowing I’m to be on my game, but weighed in at my lowest since I was weighing out for this too!
