  • When I started this dietbet I was nervous/excited to get back in to exercising regularly, it had been awhile... my first rides on my indoor bike were 15-25 minutes and I felt like I was going to die. Now I do 2 rides each day (4-5 days per week) and I'm still amazed at what I can do! I've barely lost any weight in the past 6 weeks but I feel great!

Not sure I’m going to make it. Got down to my goal then went on vacation. One week and up 3 pounds. Not the end of the world but slightly disappointed. Very proud that I was able to lose 10 pounds before my vacation and I didn’t shy away from the camera. Also spent the vacation very active with tons of hiking, swimming, and walking. Unfortunately there was also lots of cold beer and rum lol. That being said I didn’t eat too off track. Glad to be back in the game.

DAILY VS WEEKLY WEIGH-INS
Good morning! My weight over the weekend was below this month's goal, and then this morning it is 0.7 lbs over. I was quite active and am guessing I'm retaining a little water? Today will be a day of no salt and lots of water. And I just chopped up some cabbage, carrots, onion, garlic, celery, and tossed in a pot with a can of diced tomatoes and water. Going to fiber these 0.7 lbs away! Lol.

I'm glad I weigh myself daily, because I can tell the trend, and recognize when something is probably just water (like today). But I know some people say weighing in daily is too compulsive and weekly is more healthy. How often do you all weigh yourselves?

Daily. Tanita Ironman Bluetooth scale, that I travel with. Track/ note weekly average, but for DB, it is that day's weight when time to weigh-in.

  • First straight run of 3 miles since October! I actually surprised myself I haven’t been consistently exercising until this week when I started 75 hard. I told myself I wanted to be back to 6 miles by the time it was over and it definitely seems achievable 💕 was it slow YES but I got it done!

That was a little frustrating. I weigh myself once a week and today I weighed the exact same as last week. I have decreased my exercise a bit this week cause my knee started to act up, but I've been overall decent with my meal plan. Blah! Switching around my exercise routine for a few weeks till my knee feels better. Hoping that I'll still continue making progress. Next weigh in will be when we have to weigh out for the end of this month. Come me! You can do it!

I understand your frustration. What has helped me mentally is to weigh myself once a day (which was scary at first) and I see how much weight can fluctuate. I’ve noticed a lot depends on the amount of water I drink/salt in-take but the overall trend has been: up one day, down the next but it will slowly go downward. Don’t get discourage if you don’t see results quickly. You are still doing a killer job and getting healthy in the process! Good job and good luck!! :muscle:

Once a week weighing can be risky. For all you know you have been down all week but last night you had s salty meal and today you are retaining 1-3lbs I water weight. Like Allyson, for me daily weighing has taken the emotion out if the scale and I see it as a data point.

Day 38 of no adding salt to my food and I can officially say I don’t miss it anymore! I LOVE salt, have loved it my entire adult life, so this is a huge NSV for me! Also day 8 of no Diet Coke. This has been even harder than the salt I’m afraid, but I have not given in and I won’t! Breaking up with Diet Coke has been maybe the most painful breakup of my life??? Kidding… maybe? But seriously it’s super hard for me. I can’t say I don’t miss it yet, not even close! I miss it like crazy but I won’t cave and I KNOW (hope???) it will get easier soon. I miss you Diet Coke!!!

Good for you! I was a Diet Pepsi drinker for years. I gave it up about 10 years ago and now I crave my ice water with lemon. You can do it!
