Good morning! My weight over the weekend was below this month's goal, and then this morning it is 0.7 lbs over. I was quite active and am guessing I'm retaining a little water? Today will be a day of no salt and lots of water. And I just chopped up some cabbage, carrots, onion, garlic, celery, and tossed in a pot with a can of diced tomatoes and water. Going to fiber these 0.7 lbs away! Lol.

I'm glad I weigh myself daily, because I can tell the trend, and recognize when something is probably just water (like today). But I know some people say weighing in daily is too compulsive and weekly is more healthy. How often do you all weigh yourselves?

Daily. Tanita Ironman Bluetooth scale, that I travel with. Track/ note weekly average, but for DB, it is that day's weight when time to weigh-in.

  • Having brunch 😋 this is my current favorite thing to make

    3 slices of ham
    1 whole tomato
    Handful of spinach
    3 eggs
    Cottage cheese (I use my heart to measure)

    Lots of protein!!! I stay full for a while after eating this

I second reading through Dietbet boards. And looking at the weight goals or graph. Just reminding myself that this is one of the things I am doing in life right now so it doesn't slip out of my mind.

Also, I am treating myself to more hobby time. I too have depression and I figure that building Legos or gardening is a better use of my time than eating, and it brings me some joy.

Exercise wise - it helps with depression, so I try to get myself to go walking in my neighborhood when the weather is nice (for me, that is cold and overcast) or dance to music I like.

I’m on DietBet several times a day, reading, replying and trying to encourage everyone one, which actually helps me to keep going. I keep this game in my mind all day, evaluating what I’m eating and doing as it relates to my goal.

  • I knew if I set myself the goal to ‘lose weight’, I might struggle. How can I hold myself accountable each day?

    So instead I set myself the goal of working out every day in January, and to track my calories.

    And whaddya know: I’m down 14 lbs. This is a huge wake up call for me. Focus on setting targets that lead to a goal, instead of just the goal itself ????

    Congrats to everyone in this game, regardless of whether you made Round 1 or not. We’re only a sixth of the way there ☺

I'm trying Lyn-Genet Recitas' The Metabolism Plan. It's a book you can get on Amazon. It's a lot of cooking, and you have to be comfortable eating a LOT of vegetables, but the weight has been coming off really steadily over the last 10 days. I'm down 9 pounds since i started and that's without much exercise at all.

2B mindset is what I’m doing- sustainable and positive. It’s all about the mindset for me. I’ve always been an emotional eater and dieting since I was 9. Changing the way I think about food is a game changer! I’m losing weight and feeling great with a couple simple changes in behavior. You should look it up!

  • Good morning! Reminder to those of you like me, who do our unofficial/interim weigh-ins naked. In our official weigh-in, we'll have CLOTHES on (0.5 - 1 lb?) and many of us us will be holding a CELL PHONE too (mine is 8 ounces). So make sure any naked weigh-ins beat your goal by 1 - 1.5 lbs so weigh-in day pics will go well!
