So I've been doing keto/low carb for the last few months. Although I have been doing pretty well with weight loss, I'm feeling like it's not really sustainable for me long term. So since I made this round's goal, I thought it was a good time to change things up and I joined WW weight watchers. I did WW years ago, but never stuck with it. I'm going to be trying the green plan, is anyone having success/progress with WW?

For the most part WW is a system for managing your calories. You can do the same with a tool like MyFitnessPal.. When you commit to consuming less than you burn it becomes pretty easy. The key to something like MyFitnessPal is that it makes you fully aware of the “cost” in calories of everything you eat. After using it for a while you naturally avoid the high calorie foods or if you must have them you mitigate the impact by portion control. It also incentivizes exercise. The more calories you burn the more calories you have to use on your favorite foods. Just a different approach that can work long term. By the way, Apples are awesome at like 50 calories. You could eat them all day and do little to no harm.. Cakes, breads, etc. not so much :wink: Down about 70 lbs from my high a couple years ago and 40 lbs this game using this approach.

I love WW. I really appreciate the positive community and support. It’s not just about weight loss but mental health and managing long term change. I have lost 85 lbs and counting with WW. I’m on the blue plan but I cannot comment on the others because I have never tried them.

Yes, we can! I don't have much of a formal exercise plan other than riding my stationary bike but I do my own yardwork and clean my own house. I expend a lot of effort on those activities even though it seems like the house is never clean and the yard is always overgrown. How does that happen?

So I threw my back out during my workout this morning. I had a very sore leg muscle that I was kind of ignoring and I kept working out. Lesson learned. I am hoping this doesn't take weeks to get better (can barely walk currently). I also hope I don't gain weight and keep losing. I have lost 28 pounds since March and I have 28 pounds to go.

My back has always been susceptible to injury so I baby the heck out of it. I am doing Step Bet for exercise so I slowed my pace and joined less intense games. This helped but once I started doing yoga stretches before bed and when I woke up I really noticed the difference. Today I got 11;000+ steps in with minor twinges. I don’t want to jinx it:) but I think I am healing/healed. Go slow keep exercising and congratulations on the awesome weight loss.

  • More than a month ago I said I would post the progress each month on getting to the right size for my new pants. I didn't do it on time because I couldn't "see" any difference. Once I finally took pictures, I could see more change than in the mirror. So don't get discouraged! Your efforts are having more effect than you can see immediately!
