Close to my Rnd 3 goal, yay!, & traveling next week, up to weigh-in day (bringing scale w/ me). Any weight-loss travel tips? We'll be in a standard hotel rm w/ mini-fridge & microwave. Gonna bring a water filter. I tend to eat low carb when dropping lbs. Maybe I'll bring some cooked chicken to last the 1st couple days & eat from the grocery store rather than out... Or order grilled chicken sandwiches w/out the bun...

I stick with low carb while traveling so I don’t gain weight too. To keep the weight off the best thing for me is ensuring I drink enough water and get enough activity. If traveling for vacation that’s not usually a problem, but if I’m traveling for work it’s more difficult to get close to my normal activity in.

You’re really thinking ahead. Don’t make my mistake of eating too much fruit— seems harmless but can yield too many calories. Alternatively, veggies are perfect for snacking.

  • Non-scale victories are great too, right? I mean, I know this is a scale-oriented program - it is a weight loss program, after all - but I had a major non-scale victory today that made me happy, even though I regained some weight this week: nearly **20 miles** of running and walking (combined) today!

    The scale may not always work in my favor, but I am so happy to be reaching these milestones!

Tell me your non-scale victories (NSV) from the past week!

Mine: new personal best run yesterday, 7.18 miles. One of my goals is to do a 10 mile run before the end of year, so building up slowly but surely. And, I could still walk after!

Well done on your run. I got my best 5km run time of the year on Monday - some way to go to get back to where I was, but the weight loss now showing through.

And last night the first person asked me if I wasn't looking rather svelte - really lovely to hear the first person be confident enough to say something. More of that, please!

My flexibility is increasing as I've been doing a lot of yoga & jumping on my mini trampoline. I found out last night I can do a close approximation of reclining hero pose, pretty fun. I love seeing people's progress here- your NSVs are awesome!

Well went out of town to visit family..eating like crap but brought my scale with me..I am .3 lbs more than last weeks weigh in but still under goal so woohoo. Good luck everyone and home tomorrow so need to buckle down again

Argh! I was at or below goal for 4 straight days this week! And now, on weigh in day, I'm 1.6 lbs over!!! I've even been eating lower cals than usual all week because I'm just not that hungry! Hoping it falls off by tomorrow. Was really hoping to be able to relax just a little this weekend.

Oh that is so frustrating! Have you been drinking enough water to flush out any toxins? I’ve noticed if I’m eating right and still gaining weight sometimes I’m not drinking enough, and a few times that meant drinking 7-8 liters to help flush everything through my system.

Yes, I've had that going on a little. I think this next month my goal is to get a couple pounds below goal to give me some breathing room at the end of the month. It could come off by tomorrow morning! Let's hope!
