I've lost 20-40 lbs multiple times in my life but always regain, now I'm way past my highest weight ever, so it's time to get real. I'm 5'1, 33, turning 34 in July and hoping to go from 196 to 156 by then and 126 by the end of 2024! I've had success here years ago with the shorter games, but after many failed attempts on my own since the pandemic (depression+working from home and not moving all day will do that), I'm back to get a swift kick in the (big) booty.
My plan:
Exercise: start with longer daily walks with dog and 3 20-minute workouts a week, soon to add weight lifting and more/longer workouts, but trying to set realistic goals.
Food: tracking on MyNet Diary since MFP is not what it was. 1400 cal limit, have a robust meal planner journal and have saved tons of easy, make ahead recipes. Loaded the fridge with sparkling water and easy to grab precut produce. Asking my family keep treats in the garage if they must buy them. Not restricting food but focusing on eating mostly meditteranean diet.
Etc: drinking more water- at least 1.5 40 oz tumbler per day. Found my old fitbit and am aiming for 10k steps a day. Working on getting rid of the old punishment mindset and recognizing this is me taking care of myself.
