I'm really struggling mentally today. I've been having a really hard time losing weight lately which has affected my motivation. But last week was good- so good! I kept up with my workouts, my nutrition was 👌👌. Still lost ZERO pounds. But that's ok (I keep telling myself)- I just gotta stick with it. Then yesterday... I feel like crap, I'm super bloated. Mentally, I feel like the last two weeks were pointless. It's a struggle to do anything but scroll on my phone today. So here I am, half dressed in workout clothes in my closet. I know I should get outside to some fresh air, get my heart pumping and get some sunlight (it's 80 and sunny where I live) but am finding it difficult to put on my shoes. I hate this feeling. My heart says I've failed and to give up, my brain says "this will pass. Just put on the shoes and go outside. One step at a time." I'm sharing this in hopes that there maybe someone who feels the same as I do today and for them to know (for me too) that we are not alone. I typically only post my successes- but I thought today I should be real.

Despite having 2 broken legs at the moment, I am still eating well and doing what I can with weights. So just arm exercises right now. But I can tell my core has become stronger out of necessity. Moving between the wheelchair to a chair, couch (where I sleep right now), shower chair, etc., I have become stronger. Trying to find a silver lining with this.

I need some advice with intermittent fasting, I work nights , and on my days off I have to wake up 6am to get my kids to school, I have to drink my latte to be awake ( I tried black coffe , but I can’t stand it ) , I would sip on my latte for a couple hours, and I would not be hungry til 4pm ,I missed my eating window by doing this , but I ll get really hungry at around 7pm and of course I ll eat cuz I would be super hungry that I can’t even fall asleep. I think my body is so used to night shift since I ve been on nights for 25 years , I am having problems doing intermittent fasting on my days off , looking for some advice to still make my fasting plan works . Any advice??

Fasting helps me drop a lot , but my problem is that I had to keep switching my schedule since I work nights , I have no problem sticking with it when I work, but on my days off it s hard , since I always needed coffee ( can’t stand black ) to wake me up , I m going to try using a bit of creamer instead of milk to see how it goes


Try the black coffee iced. It’s hard to switch but can be done!

Also, you’ll still reap the benefits of intermittent fasting if you only do it a few days a week. Could help to focus on your work days as fasting days and the other days as healthy food days

I'd go for the vegetables most, what ever your eating just incorporate mostly vegetables


Laura Dixon‘s Naturally Thin for Life podcast was the first thing that ever helped me with binge eating.

I realized that my binge eating was ALL emotional…could be as simple as “I’m tired/overwhelmed/stressed.” And once I realized that, it was easier to tell myself, “you are feeling X. Food doesn’t solve this. How will you feel tomorrow morning if you try to solve this emotion with food?” I highly highly recommend her podcast

  • With my daughter and grandson moving in a week ago, I've been MIA in my games and I've also not been great at watching what I eat. She bought a BIG box of Goldfish Crackers, and crackers are truly one item I find very hard to say no to, which is why I NEVER buy them. Anyway, I'm up a pound and a half, and trying to regain my momentum. Losing weight is pretty hard for me anyway - things move slowly at my age, but honestly I love having them there and wouldn't change any of it (except for the crackers - I'm going to have to talk to her about that).

Enjoy your family time! You're kids are just as beautiful as you! Your daughter looks a lot like you! Drink water stay away from salt only weigh in the morning. Try not to eat late! Moderation. Get your hormones checked

Just dropped my husband off at the hospital this morning for liver and colon surgeries. He'll be there for at least a week. I'm trying not to eat or drink my emotions. Trying to keep my habits healthy. Trying to release this nervous energy.

Even though we're essentially strangers, I'm thankful for this wonderful group of people to turn to for inspiration and laughter. Have a wonderful Monday everyone ❤

One surgery done the other postponed due to too much bleeding. So we will wait and recover. Tea has been my best friend the past few days! So comforting and good for my diet :blush:

Any tips for unwinding at the end of the day?!? Today was a super productive day, but now I'm left feeling completely exhausted and all I want to do is turn the TV on and eat some comfort food.

I'm trying to change my habits but haven't found one to replace this splurging behavior (which is what I do when I'm mentally exhausted but not ready for bed , or when I'm super stressed). Doesn't help that my weight seems to have plateaued, just making me more stressed.

I love to do dance videos on YouTube. I know you said unwind…sometimes it is something that helps me get out stress or energy, and feel more connected with my body. Hip hop videos, Zumba, there’s tons of free ones, even ones to all Disney songs. I think they’re fun.
